Happy New Year all!
Must say the fireworks last night was a bit meh! think the light show last year was better.
The official London fireworks was crap, saw it on tv. I had more fireworks in my area than that. Stroke of midnight it seemed more than bonfire night. Think it is the most I have ever seen locally, unless people stayed indoors and did their own thing. |

Do think London has fallen behind in recent years, the light show last year was nice but globally it was still received extremely poorly. Do think we really could do better considering we have Big Ben right in the middle of it all with its chimes and the London Eye and Westminster Palace providing really nice backdrops. Saw reports yesterday that the people who lived local to the actual firework display saying that they were nowhere near what was actually shown on TV and suggesting that a lot of it was actually CGI on the TV. |

Each to their own, I thought the fireworks display was better than the past few years and the laser thing going on was a neat touch

Agreed, last year’s display was much better and the drones were far better utilised in last year’s display. This year just felt a bit hodgepodge with the fireworks just exploding with little coordination. The abruptness of the ending just felt weird as did the bloke doing a speech at the beginning. I can’t wait to find out what the monstrous display cost Londoners. |
