Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

Thank you to both of you.

During the run-up to Christmas I felt an unexpected and unfamiliar nostalgia for family Christmases from when we were much younger.

It's the run-up to Christmas that can be hardest. As a tribute of sorts to my brother, it felt inappropriate to increase my pre-Christmas celebrations compared to last year. So for example, I did not join a social with a group of friends who cancelled it last year due to Omicron.

I tend to prefer the time just after Christmas to the time just before. This helps me look forward to New Year even away from buses, hence my announcement of not being here on New Year's Eve despite being a Saturday.

However, I have had the strength of character to book a visit to London! I shall come by coach and ride buses in Croydon on January 14th. Previous attempts to reach Croydon in recent years have been scuppered and I am sick of waiting for Hydrogens at Crawley. I may combine Crawley with my next Sutton or Kingston trip instead.

Anyway, as this is my final post of 2022, I thought I'd wish you all a very happy New Year.

Thank you to everyone who has given a thumbs-up to any of my posts or given a friendly reply this year.

I'll be back in the first half of January. See you for more bus commentary and a bit more besides!

I wish everyone here a very happy new year! Let's hope 2023 may not be as tumultuous as 2022 in this country and in this world.

Happy New Year one and all! lets hope 2023 is a turning point for the 2020s 

I am sure it will be another interesting year with buses. I am certainly looking forward to the big batch of east London tender results in the spring and summer.

It will be an interesting year indeed. We shall see what routes they'll consider when implementing their 1 million extra bus kilometres. I am also looking forward to see how the new 1 would turn out.
