Just seen TfL buses tweeting buses being delayed by people celebrating today's win! Such a feel good summer this year. There are worse problems we could have!

I still don’t see England winning it - other than the Belgium game which was like a friendly, they’ve played no one in reality which still leaves everyone wondering is this team really that good - at least three players have been carried by the others for example. They’ve had the most easiest route to a final I’ve seen for years as well and I don’t see them getting past France or Belgium whoever wins that semi-final.

Just watching Russia vs Croatia game and apart from 10 minutes in the first half where the two goals came from, the rest of 80+ minutes of the game was pretty boring. Let see what will the extra will bring in, though I won't be surprised if this game went to penalty shootout.

Based on today I don't think we have much to fear from Crotia.
Great credit to the Russians though who have massively over achieved.

I am relieved that we are up against Croatia and not Russia. With vociferous crowd support, could have been tough. Now it seems an easier route...

The bookies have England at second or third favourites from what I can see and that’s about right. A semi final is beyond anything I expected and I suspect most of the players and coaching staff didn’t expect it either. This World Cup has shown anything can happen and if the stars align then maybe, just maybe, football will be coming home I don’t buy the easy route to the final rubbish either. The teams that advanced to the knockout rounds all deserved their place. Colombia are a tricky team to play and although they lost to them in the group, Sweden beat Germany out of that group. That the big name teams have fallen by the wayside isn’t England’s fault - they’ve still had to beat what was in front of them and they’ve done that All four teams left will be fancying their chances now; the fact that one team doesn’t stand out is a good thing. Both semi finals will be close and competitive and I expect at least one will go to penalties. I’m going with a France/England final

I’m going with a France/England final I never said the teams that went through didn't deserve their place but I don't agree with you that their route wasn't easy. Yes Colombia are a tricky team to play but their not the same team of 4 years previous and were missing their star player Rodriguez - Tunisia, Panama & Sweden are hardly top teams and ultimately, England should be judged on whether they can mix it with their best and I'm afraid I see nothing that made me think they can - I can't remember a World Cup where a team had such an easy run through. I do agree that all four teams fancy their chances - France vs Belgium is too close to call and a game I'm looking forward to watching as it's France's resolute defence against Belgium's impressive attack.

I’m going with a France/England final I don't get this negativity either, you can only beat what's put in front of you and the Swedish team we beat comprehensively yesterday were certainly no mugs and as you mentioned they pipped the Germans to qualifying for the knockout stages. France were rather fortunate to beat Australia in their opening game and Belgium struggled against Japan. I don't think we'll ever have a better chance of winning it but there's no reason why the other countries shouldn't be thinking the same thing.

It's not negatively, its reality - in any other tournament, England would of been properly tested by now and we'd know whether they are good enough or whether it's down to the kind draw and I've seen nothing to suggest it isn't the latter. Of course you can only beat what's in front of you but it doesn't the hide the fact just how ridiculously easy the draw has been for England compared to any other World Cup. Sweden are a decent team at best but lack pace & a decent striker - it's a team that a supposedly good England side (something which can't be verified yet) should be beating anyway and had Germany not self imploded, they'd of qualified ahead of Sweden. Your forgetting that England were rather fortunate against Tunisia & Colombia - against Tunisia, they only played well the first 36 minutes & against Colombia, they played in patches & 1-1 was a fair result. All I'm saying is whilst your enjoying the run, keep in mind the reality about how no one knows if this team is the real deal.

On top of that an E on the 87 and a VWH on the 295 got their windscreens smashed, bearing in mind that would be only two incidents in many.

Portugal were barely tested when they won Euro 2016, they were in a group with Hungary, Iceland and Austria but couldn't beat any of them (three draws) but they scraped through in third place to the knockout stages where they beat Switzerland on penalties, Poland on penalties, Wales in the semi final and ground out a 1-0 win over France in the final but I can't imagine they care two hoots, it's their name on the trophy.
