It will be interesting to see if First expand in South Devon at all in 2022, he seemed to indicate a good working relationship with Plymouth City and Devon County Council and potential for expension from Dartmoor Explorer? And work from BSIP He mentioned that it would instead be a re-timing, there was IIRC no mention of an extension especially as he mentioned running time being a problem. You have to remember these services are crosslinked into school contract services (I assume running from Bicton College given the high number of branded examples that go onto Dartmoor and it being close to Exeter), not particularly sure if an extension could be done especially given limitations regarding time during the beginning of the school day and end of the day.
It could very well be possible however First do perhaps venture back into Plymouth especially after the Plymouth arm of FSW transferred to Stagecoach 10 ish years ago. I don't know what work they would expand to into South Devon unless it was leisure work, which could very well be possible although I think Stagecoach has dominated that market.
The BSIP in Devon apparently is really good which was mentioned in the Omnibus Soceity Talk, although I guess the really difficult one is the Somerset one especially given they had a sharp decline in passenger numbers pre COVID. I don't think Somerset will receive a fully zero emission fleet by 2030 like the BSIP is suggesting, especially when you consider for the most part especially with their improvements to bus services in the past two years lots of their stock has been cast offs from Ensignbus Dealer Stock (in the case of their many leisure services) and Bristol & Hampshire and Dorset.

Yes will be interesting but I wonder what opportunities there would be for First in Plymouth with Stagecoach/ National Express and Go Ahead *Citybus* already operating in the city. First as you say operated in Plymouth until 6 years ago when they sold Plymouth ops to Stagecoach. They wanted Plymouth depot then I believe for Megabus ops and new Falcon service which may not be the case in near future of course with NE merger

There are quite a number of timetable changes and a few route changes coming up for 10th April - the Sunday before Easter. Stagecoach South West, First South West (Cornwall by Kernow) and Go South West (Plymouth CityBus and Go Cornwall Bus) all involved.
In Torbay, routes 12, 22 and Gold will return to their normal routes and frequencies following the completion of the railway bridge works in Livermead, Torquay - this was due to end at the beginning of March but has been extended until 8th April due to late delivery of materials to the work site. Open-top route 122 will also reappear for the 2022 season. Torwood Street closure (affecting route 22) is set to end on or before Friday 11th March.
More details when I have them.

Stagecoach changes in Plymouth seem to be an extra service or two on Service 1 in the rush hour plus an 11pm departure from Plymouth to Tavistock added (almost back to pre covid, midnight) .
Park and Ride 101 George Junction to Plymouth reduced to every 20 mins (currently 15 mins,). Think could have guessed this would happen when service 1 was diverted to serve George site at the end of 2021)

Teignmouth Road in St Marychurch, Torquay, is currently closed between the Petrol Station roundabout and Park Road. Buses on route 22 and 35A/35C are operating non-stop via St Marychurch Road in both directions between St Marychurch and the roundabout. Route 22 buses to and from Dawlish Warren are looping round via Manor Road in both directions so they can serve the usual stops in St Marychurch - Chilcote Memorial towards Torquay & Paignton, Manor Road towards Teignmouth & Dawlish. The diversion is due to end by 22nd March.

So the deal with National Express is off with Stagecoach apparently preferring bid from DWS investment group. Will be interesting to see what this means for services across Devon as they promise money for expansion etc. Plymouth Citybus seem to be cutting services in parts of city so maybe opportunities there!

It seems citybus are cutting servuce across the ferry to Torpoint to just one per hour from April. Could Stagecoach take over on this route perhaps?

Plymouth CityBus changes from 10th April (including routes operated as part of the Go Cornwall Bus network)
Routes 8/9 (Efford and Laira circular) - reduced daytime frequency to every 15 minutes (30 minutes each route)
Route 11 (Plymouth-Bodmin Parkway) - shortened to operate between Plymouth and Liskeard/Trago Mills/St Neot only. This breaks up the Plymouth-Padstow through route as the Bodmin Parkway-Padstow 11A service will be renumbered 10 and operated separately.
Routes 12/12A (Plymouth-Downgate/Bude) - revised hourly service between Plymouth, Callington and Launceston with route 12 operating via Stoke Climsland and route 12A via St Dominic. Two-hourly service between Launceston and Bude. 12A no longer serves Downgate.
Route 33 (Ford & Keyham) - rerouted via Wilton Street, Molesworth and Ford Hill to part-replace route 70 (this will leave the eastern section of St Levan Road unserved). New timetable to improve reliability.
Route 70/70A/70B (Plymouth-Torpoint & Rame Peninsula) - revised to operate at an hourly frequency between Plymouth, Torpoint and on to Cremyll. Most route 70B journeys withdrawn, partly replaced by new route 75A which will operate from Torpoint Ferry Terminal to Plymouth via St Germans and Saltash. Revised in Plymouth to operate via the Railway Station and Milehouse - route via Wilton Street and Molesworth Road covered by changes to the 33. On Sunday operates hourly as 70A to Torpoint (HMS Raleigh) and two-hourly on to Cremyll.
Route 71 (Derriford Hospital-Saltash-Liskeard) - revised to operate between Derriford Hospital and Saltash (Burraton Cross) only.
Route 72 (Plymouth-Looe & Polperro) - Monday-Saturday service withdrawn between West Looe and Polperro (most journeys to terminate at Hannafore). This section will be replaced by an enhanced route 73 (Liskeard-Polperro) with additional Summer season journeys between Tregoad Holiday Park and Polperro. Sunday and public holiday service will now operate between Plymouth and Polperro every 2 hours.

Stagecoach timetable changes from 10th April (part 2 - Exeter area)
Some services in the Exeter area now have temporary timetables, with journeys removed from the timetable on a "planned cancellation" basis to allow for the current levels of staff shortage. The new timetables will adjust timings to even out frequencies, whilst providing a service that best meets levels of demand within the staffing resources available. The deferred introduction of Friday and Saturday night services on some city routes, in conjunction with Devon County Council, will commence from Friday 15th April.
A - timetable changes, with the Sunday daytime frequency adjusted to every 30 minutes. Hourly night service until 04.00 on Friday and Saturday nights.
B/2B - timetable changes. During the evenings and on Sunday daytimes, short journeys between the City Centre and Matford are withdrawn in favour of an hourly through service to Exminster, this will interwork with route 2 to provide a 30-minute frequency to Exminster.
E1/E2 - new timetable with each route reduced to hourly in the evenings and on Sundays. Hourly night service until 04.00 on Friday and Saturday nights, these journeys operate to and from RD&E Hospital.
F1/F2 - new timetable with each route reduced to hourly in the evenings and on Sundays. F2 does not serve Union Road before 10.00 on Sundays.
H/H1/H2 - new timetable. The short route H journeys between St Davids station and RD&E Hospital no longer operate but routes H1 and H2 will continue to operate a half-hourly combined frequency.
I/J - the evening and Sunday service will be revised to operate hourly throughout on each route. Hourly night service until 04.00 on Friday and Saturday nights.
K - Monday-Saturday daytime frequency evened out to every 30 minutes.
L - evening and Sunday frequency reduced to hourly. Hourly night service until 04.00 on Friday and Saturday nights.
T - evening service withdrawn on all days (routes I/J and 57 provide partial alternatives)
X/Y/Z - Sunday and Public Holiday journeys withdrawn.
Red Park & Ride - Sunday frequency reduced to every 30 minutes.
2 - new timetable with minor changes to times. On Sundays an hourly service will operate throughout with short journeys between Exeter and Dawlish withdrawn. Combines with route B during evenings and Sundays to provide a 30-minute frequency between Exeter and Exminster.
6/6A - minor timetable changes
9/9A - revised timetable as buses no longer serve Greendale vaccination centre. A few early evening departures from Exeter are withdrawn.
39 - evening journeys withdrawn: 19.50 (MF) and 00.15 (MS) Newton Abbot-Exeter and 23.05 (MS) Exeter-Newton Abbot.
95 - commencement of seasonal open-top service until Autumn.
X38 - 18.20 (MS) Exeter-South Brent extended to Plymouth. 19.22 (MS) South Brent-Exeter withdrawn.

There has been a rethink on withdrawing route 11 between Liskeard and Bodmin Parkway, and this service will now continue on an hourly basis. This means that the through link from Plymouth to Padstow will still be maintained with a single change at Bodmin Parkway. Use of the link will be reviewed in September.

Some timetable changes at the start and end of each day. <snip> The railway bridge works in Torquay, that were due to be completed on 3rd March and were extended until 8th April, have been further extended to 23rd May. There are telephone cables in the vicinity that, if disturbed, could cause disruption to local homes and businesses. This suggests that the temporary timetables for routes 12, 22 and Gold will continue, and the introduction of the 122 may be deferred. That may be no bad thing as Stagecoach is still short-staffed in Torbay and rising Covid rates are starting to bite again.

Go South West (Plymouth CityBus) ADL Enviro400 no.508 has been given a blue-and-yellow livery "Stand With Ukraine", to show support for the people of Ukraine and raise awareness of, and funds for, the Disaster Emergency Committee's (DEC) humanitarian appeal. The bus, which has a donation point onboard, will be used on a variety of Plymouth CityBus and Go Cornwall Bus routes. The parent Go-Ahead Group has pledged to match, pound-for-pound, all funds raised by Go South West employees. Employees will be allowed to wear blue and yellow clothes from 28th March to 8th April, in return for a donation to the DEC appeal. The company will also work with Local Authorities to identify any Ukranian refugees who arrive in the Plymouth and Cornwall area due to the current crisis, and provide them with free bus travel. www.plymouthbus.co.uk/peace
