Travel Devon has now issued a comprehensive list of the changes due in and around Exeter and North Devon on Sunday 30th October, including replacement routes which will be contracted out by Devon County Council. There are also a couple of changes around Plymouth. Finalised timetables are expected to appear in mid-October.

A Alphington – St Thomas – City Centre – Heavitree – Thornpark Rise Service A will operate between Alphington and the City Centre only. The daytime frequency increases to every 20 minutes, with evenings and Sunday remaining half-hourly. In the City Centre buses will continue from the High Street to terminate at the Odeon. The section of route from the City Centre to Thornpark Rise will be covered by revised services R and S.
B1/B2 Pinhoe/Science Park – City Centre – Marsh Barton – Matford – Exminster The present service B2 between Exminster and Science Park via the City Centre will become service B and will operate every 30 minutes during the day. On Sunday it will operate hourly between Exminster and the City Centre only. There will be some earlier Monday – Friday journeys. The present service B1 between Exeter City Centre and Pinhoe will be replaced by revised service E2.
E1/E2 City Centre – St Thomas – Exwick Services E1 and E2 will be extended from the City Centre to Beacon Heath (E1), replacing service F1 and Pinhoe (E2), replacing this section of service B1.
The services will continue to provide a combined fifteen minute daytime frequency to Exwick and will operate every thirty minutes to Beacon Heath and Pinhoe, increasing the service to Pinhoe from hourly to every thirty minutes. In the evening and on Sunday services will operate every thirty minutes to Exwick and hourly to Beacon Heath and Pinhoe. Union Road, Savoy Hill and Summerway will no longer be served by Stagecoach commercial services. New service F will serve these areas.
F1/F2 City Centre – Stoke Hill – Beacon Heath These services are withdrawn and partially replaced by extended services E1 and E2. The F1 will be replaced by new E1, apart from Savoy Hill. F2 is replaced by E1 and E2, apart from Union Road and Summerway. Union Road, Savoy Hill and Summerway will no longer be served by Stagecoach commercial services. These areas will retain a service as part of new service F.
F Cowley Bridge – City Centre – Union Road – Savoy Hill – Summerway circular This is a new service operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council, which will provide an approximately hourly Monday – Saturday daytime service for West Garth Road, Union Road, Savoy Hill and Summerway.
H1/H2 Cowley Bridge – Exeter St David’s – City Centre – R.D &E Hospital – Digby Services H1 and H2 will become service H, which will operate between Exeter St David’s and Digby via the City Centre, R.D & E Hospital, Grecian Way and Pynes Hill. The service will operate half-hourly Monday – Saturday. Evening and Sunday services are withdrawn. Exeter St Davids Station to the City Centre will also be served by extended service 4 and new service 4A, including during the evening and on Sunday. The R.D &E Hospital will be served by an extension of the R and S during the evening and on Sunday. Digby will not have an evening or Sunday service, but services 9 and 9A operate along Sidmouth Road and there is an approximately hourly train service to Digby and Sowton station. The extension to Cowley Bridge and West Garth Road is withdrawn, with new service F providing an approximately hourly replacement. The section of H1 serving Broadfields will become part of the revised R and S services.
I Digby – Whipton – City Centre – Countess Wear – Digby Minor changes to the timetable in the early morning and evening.
J Digby – Countess Wear – City Centre – Whipton – Digby Minor changes to the timetable in the early morning and evening.
P Crossmead – St Thomas – City Centre – Pennsylvania The route in the Crossmead area is revised to operate a one-way loop from Cowick Street via Dunsford Road, Barley Lane, Barley Farm Road, Berkshire Drive, Bowhay Lane and Dunsford Road. Okehampton Road, Isleworth Road and Charnley Road will no longer be served. The Monday to Saturday daytime frequency is increased to every 30 minutes. Service 173 will be diverted via Okehampton Road to retain a limited service on this section.
R/S Rifford Road – City Centre Circular The present route between Rifford Road and the City Centre via Heavitree will be amended to serve Broadfields and Thornpark Rise, replacing these sections of services H1 and A. Monday to Saturday daytime the service will operate every 30 minutes on both Services R and S. During the evening and on Sunday the service will operate hourly. During the evening and all day on Sunday services will extend from Rifford Road to and from the R.D & E Hospital, as a partial replacement for Service H1 and H2.
T City Centre – Topsham Quay Service T will continue to provide three off-peak journeys between Topsham Quay and the City Centre. Following local requests it will also serve Woodbury to provide a link to Topsham, as well as additional journeys into the City Centre. The service will now be operated by Dartline under contract to Devon County Council.
X Whipton – Honiton Road Park & Ride – Early Morning special Service withdrawn.
Y Alphington – Matford Park & Ride via Exwick and City Centre – Early Morning special Service withdrawn.
Z Exminster – Matford Park & Ride via Honiton Road Park & Ride – Early morning special Service withdrawn.
Red City Centre – Honiton Road Park & Ride Service withdrawn. Honiton Road Park & Ride – City Centre will be served by services 4 and 4A providing a combined ten-minute daytime service Monday – Saturday. The section of route via Cumberland Way is withdrawn and passengers for this section will need to walk from Honiton Road, or Tithebarn Way.
3 Plymouth – Modbury – Kingsbridge – Slapton – Dartmouth The service has a revised timetable and will operate as service 3 from Plymouth to Kingsbridge and 93 between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. Most journeys will continue to operate as through services from Kingsbridge.
4 Exeter – Honiton Road Park & Ride – Cranbrook Service 4 will be extended beyond Exeter City Centre to Exeter St David’s, with a revised route in the City Centre.
4A Exeter St David’s – City Centre – Honiton Road Park & Ride – Exeter Airport New Service 4A will link Exeter St David’s and Exeter Airport via the City Centre, Honiton Road Park and Ride and Clyst Honiton. It will operate every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and hourly evenings and Sunday. It will replace service 56 between Exeter St Davids Station and Exeter Airport. Services 4 and 4A provide a combined ten-minute frequency between St Davids Station and Clyst Honiton.
5/5A/5B/5C Exeter – Crediton – Okehampton/Barnstaple/Chulmleigh Service 5 will operate between Exeter and Crediton every twenty-minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and every sixty minutes during the evening and on Sunday. One morning peak journey will start from Chulmleigh, Winkleigh and Hatherleigh Monday – Friday. In the late afternoon/early evening one journey will extend to Chulmleigh, Winkleigh and Hatherleigh. Stagecoach have given notice to Devon County Council on the contracts for service 5A to Hatherleigh and Okehampton, 5B to Torrington, Bideford and Barnstaple and 5C to Lapford and Chulmleigh. These will be replaced by new services 315 Barnstaple – Bideford – Torrington – Winkleigh – North Tawton – Crediton – Exeter, 345 Okehampton – Hatherleigh – North Tawton – Crediton – Exeter and 377 Chulmleigh – Lapford – Crediton – further details to be announced.
6/6A Exeter – Okehampton – Holsworthy – Bude/Launceston Service 6 will operate between Bude and Okehampton Railway Station, with five journeys per day Monday – Saturday. It will connect with trains at Okehampton and with service to 6A to Exeter. Service 6A will operate between Exeter and Okehampton Railway Station every three hours Monday to Saturday daytime via Sticklepath, Whiddon Down, Tedburn St Mary and Pathfinder Village.
Stagecoach will no longer operate service 6A between Launceston and Okehampton, which will be replaced by new service 306 operated by Go Cornwall Bus under contract to Devon County Council and Cornwall Council. Service 306 will also serve Okehampton Railway Station for train connections. There will no longer be a Sunday service between Launceston and Okehampton. Details of Sunday services between Bude, Okehampton and Exeter will be available shortly.
19 North Devon District Hospital – Barnstaple – Roundswell The evening frequency between Barnstaple and North Devon District Hospital is increased to hourly and on Sunday to every thirty minutes.
20/20A Ivybridge – Langage – Plympton – Sherford/Marsh Mills – Plymouth There are changes to service 20A and a new service 20 introduced. Both services are operated by Plymouth Citybus under contract to Devon County Council. Service 20A will operate the existing route between Plymouth and Plympton, then via Langage and Lee Mill Tesco to Ivybridge Town Hall. New service 20 will serve Cole Lane, Ivybridge Town Hall, Langham Levels and Cornwood Road and Lee Mill Tesco, before operating via Sherford and direct into Plymouth. During peak times some journeys operate via Langage. The combined services will increase Ivybridge – Lee Mill Tesco to half-hourly and provide a quicker journey from Ivybridge estates to Plymouth.
21/21A Ilfracombe – Braunton – Barnstaple – Bideford – Westward Ho!/Appledore During the daytime Barnstaple – Braunton will reduce from every fifteen minutes to half-hourly plus one journey on service 21C. The evening and Sunday service between Barnstaple and Ilfracombe is reduced to hourly. Bideford – Northam will reduce to every 30 minutes and Appledore and Westward Ho! to hourly every day. On Saturday Barnstaple – Bideford will reduce to thirty-minutes.
21C Georgeham – Croyde – West Meadow Road – Braunton – Barnstaple Service 21C is reduced to operate every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime. The Sunday service is withdrawn for the Winter.
43 Pinhoe Station – Science Park – Clyst Honiton – Exeter Airport New peak service linking Pinhoe Station with the Science Park, Skypark and Exeter Airport. Operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council. Service 43 is funded by South Western Railway.
55/55A/55B Exeter – Stoke Canon – Bickleigh – Tiverton All journeys will operate as service 55, running direct via the A396 between Exeter and Tiverton. Service 55 will operate every thirty-minutes Monday – Saturday daytime and every ninety minutes evenings and Sunday. Service 55A journeys via Silverton are withdrawn, as are the extensions at certain times to Lea Road in Tiverton. Stagecoach will continue to operate the 55B service, under contract to Devon County Council. This is renumbered 355 and will have a new timetable with some additional journeys replacing withdrawn 55A/155 journeys. There will no longer be an evening, or Sunday service to Silverton or Thorverton.
56/56A Exeter – Exeter Airport – Greendale – Woodbury – Exmouth Services 56/56A are withdrawn. The section of route between Exeter St David’s and Exeter Airport will be replaced by new Service 4A. The section of route from Exeter Airport to Exmouth is withdrawn. Woodbury, Woodbury Salterton and Greendale will be served by new service 58 operating between Exeter and Exmouth. Lympstone Marine Estate will lose its service to Exeter, but will retain a link to Exmouth as part of new supported service 96.
56B Exmouth – Byron Way Service 56B is withdrawn. New service 96 will provide an hourly service from Exmouth to Lympstone Marine Estate via Hulham Road, Byron Way and Mount Pleasant and will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
58 Exeter – Exmouth estates – Budleigh Salterton The Budleigh Salterton to Exmouth Estates section of route is withdrawn. A replacement shopping journey to Exeter is provided by new service 356, which operates from Budleigh Salterton to Exeter via East Budleigh, Otterton, Aylesbeare and Exeter Airport and is operated by Greenslades under contract to Devon County Council.
The revised 58 service will operate via Woodbury, Woodbury Salterton and Greendale to Exeter. Morning journeys will operate to Exeter via Exmouth Estates and to Exmouth via Hulham Road. In the afternoon journeys will enter Exmouth via Exmouth Estates and leave via Hulham Road.
Budleigh Salterton will not be served by the morning peak journeys. The present daytime 58 journeys from Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth estates are withdrawn. Lympstone Marine Estate will not be served by the daytime Exeter – Exmouth journeys, with journeys operating from Woodbury to Exmouth via Woodbury Common.
75/75A/75B Londonderry Farm – Bideford – Torrington – Okehampton Service 75 will operate commercially every sixty-minutes Monday – Saturday between Londonderry Farm, Bideford and Torrington. As part of the commercial service Weare Giffard and Devonshire Park will no longer be served.
Stagecoach have given notice to D.C.C on the contract for the Okehampton – Bideford/Barnstaple 75A/75B journeys and the additional off-peak journeys between Affinity Devon and Bideford Morrison’s.
New service 317 will operate from Okehampton to Bideford via Hatherleigh, Torrington, Weare Giffard and Devonshire Park and will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
75 Newtake Estate – Decoy – Newton Abbot – Newton Abbot Hospital From 7th November the service will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council. There are minor changes to the timetable.
85 Barnstaple – Bideford – Holsworthy/Bude The Bude – Holsworthy section of route is renumbered 185.
93 Kingsbridge – Torcross – Strete – Dartmouth Service 93 replaces this section of the 3, with a revised timetable. Most journeys will continue as service 3 to Plymouth from Kingsbridge.
95 Exmouth – Sandy Bay An off-peak service will continue through the Winter operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
96 Exmouth – Byron Way – Mount Pleasant – Lympstone Marine Estate Service 96 replaces the present 56B service and the Lympstone Marine Estate section of 56. The route is Exmouth – Hulham Road – Byron Way – Mount Pleasant – Lympstone Marine Estate. The service will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
155 Exeter – Tiverton – South Molton – Barnstaple Stagecoach has given notice to Devon County Council on the present 155 contract. Stagecoach will operate service 155 commercially between Barnstaple and South Molton every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime. One morning and afternoon peak journey will extend to and from North Molton. Journeys will continue from Barnstaple Bus Station to Pottington Industrial Estate via Barnstaple Railway Station. The present diversions via Swimbridge Hooda Close and the Norbord factory are withdrawn
Between South Molton and Tiverton new service 346 will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council, running approximately two-hourly. Where possible it will connect with service 155 at South Molton and 55 at Tiverton.
173 Moretonhampstead – Chagford – Tedburn St Mary – Exeter The route in Exeter is changed, with most journeys now operating via Redhills, Okehampton Road, Buller Road and Cowick Street.
306 Okehampton – Lifton – Launceston Service 306 replaces service 6A on this section of route. Further details to be confirmed.
315 Barnstaple – Bideford – Torrington – Winkleigh – North Tawton – Crediton – Exeter Service 315 will replace service 5B, with a revised timetable. In Exeter the service will leave from Sidwell Street, not the Bus Station, all journeys serve Exeter St Davids station and most journeys serve Crediton station. Further details to be confirmed.
317 Okehampton – Hatherleigh – Torrington – Bideford This replaces the 75A and 75B between Okehampton and Torrington and will operate via Weare Giffard and Devonshire Park between Torrington and Bideford replacing those sections of service 75/75A. It will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
319 Barnstaple – Bideford – Woolsery – Clovelly – Hartland – Bude The section of route from Bude – Hartland is withdrawn.
345 Okehampton – Hatherleigh – North Tawton – Crediton – Exeter Service 345 will replace service 5A, with a revised timetable. In Exeter the service will leave from Sidwell Street, not the Bus Station, all journeys serve Exeter St Davids station and most journeys serve Crediton station. Further details to be confirmed.
351 Tiverton – Rackenford Meadows New off-peak service from Rackenford Meadows to Tiverton, operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
355 Tiverton – Silverton – Thorverton – Exeter Service 355 replaces service 55B, with a revised timetable. It will be operated by Stagecoach under contract to Devon County Council.
356 Budleigh Salterton – East Budleigh – Otterton – Aylesbeare – Exeter New service 356 operates from Budleigh Salterton to Exeter via East Budleigh, Otterton, Aylesbeare and Exeter Airport. Further details to be confirmed.
357 Exmouth – Budleigh Salterton The 0823 service from Byron Way to Bicton College and the 1700 Bicton College to Byron Way are withdrawn.
373 Cullompton – Willand – Uffculme – Tiverton Parkway – Sampford Peverell – Tiverton – The journeys temporarily operated by Dartline will now be operated by Stagecoach.
377 Chulmleigh – Lapford – Crediton – Exeter – Service 377 will replace service 5C, with a revised timetable. In Exeter the service will leave from Sidwell Street, not the Bus Station. Further details to be confirmed.
