Go Cornwall Bus is to provide a Sunday service over the revised 6 and 6A, two journeys each way on each route. From the timings it appears to be a single vehicle and two driver duties, the driver getting nearly an hour's break in Exeter. The Sunday journeys are supported by Devon County Council. Route 6: depart Bude 08.05 and 14.05, return Okehampton Station 12.28 and 18.28 Route 6A: depart Okehampton Station 09.20 and 15.20, return Exeter 11.15 and 17.15 Virtually all of the new timetables for the 30th October changes are now posted to the Travel Devon website. www.traveldevon.info/bus/latest-news-service-updates/changes-to-bus-services-in-devon-from-30th-october-2022/

In addition to its new services which have been contracted by Devon County Council, Plymouth CityBus has announced a few changes to its own city services to take effect from Sunday 30th October. The changes follow operating experience and passenger feedback and are intended to improve reliability and connections. - New route 20 will operate between Ivybridge estates and Plymouth via Lee Mill, Sherford, Billacombe Road and Prince Rock, with some peak-time journeys operating via Langage Business Park. Hourly service Monday-Saturday daytimes, no evening or Sunday service. - Route 20A will be revised and will no longer operate via Ivybridge estates (see new route 20), the route will start/terminate at the Town Hall and operate directly to and from Lee Mill Tesco. Between Lee Mill and Plympton buses will operate via Langage Business Park and will then follow the existing route into Plymouth via Plympton, Woodford and Laira. Hourly service Monday-Saturday daytimes, no evening or Sunday service. Routes 20 and 20A will be supported by Devon County Council (as is the current 20A). - Routes 28 and 61 will be restructured and renumbered as Honicknowle and Eggbuckland circular routes 60 and 61, with the 60 operating clockwise and the 61 anti-clockwise (this is consistent with the 50 and 51 circulars). - Route 34 will be extended to George Park & Ride to provide additional journeys to and from Derriford Hospital. Buses will also be rerouted via Milehouse Park & Ride, and will be timed to offer better connections with route 70 at Torpoint Ferry. - Route 35/35A will be retimed to offer an extra morning journey from Ham and better connections at Cherry Tree. - Route 44/44A will be retimed in the early morning and during the afternoon to improve reliability. - Route 70/70A/70B will be retimed to improve connections with the Torpoint Ferry and improving timekeeping towards Plymouth City Centre. www.plymouthbus.co.uk/timetable-changes-plymouth-30th-octPlymouth CityBus is also publicising its new Devon County Council contracted routes 315, 345 and 377 on its website, as well as the 306 and the Sunday service on the 6/6A which are operated by Go Cornwall Bus. www.plymouthbus.co.uk/GoDevonBus

A number of Optare Solo SR are on their way from Go North East to Go South West, up to fifteen are expected in total. Whilst this is probably connected with the new Go Devon Bus services, it is not clear if they will be used directly or allocated to Plymouth CityBus to allow Enviro200s to be redeployed.

Plymouth City Council is starting works on Mayflower Street in the City Centre next week. The street is used by a number of inbound bus services and stopping facilities will be improved as part of the work. Plymouth City Council wants to reduce congestion at stops on Royal Parade and may move the terminal for some routes - yet to be decided - to Mayflower Street. The work is due to be completed next May. At times when Mayflower Street is closed to inbound buses they will divert via North Cross Roundabout and Western Approach. www.plymouth.gov.uk/improvements-bus-facilities-mayflower-street

Plymouth citybus have cancelled their tenders for Plymouth City Council tendered routes 17,18, 27, 39 and 44a from January 2023. Could this be something Stagecoach could take on in the city?

Plymouth citybus have cancelled their tenders for Plymouth City Council tendered routes 17,18, 27, 39 and 44a from January 2023. Could this be something Stagecoach could take on in the city? Seems an odd move, surrendering Plymouth City Council contracts when more Devon County Council work has just been taken on. Perhaps the PCC contracts are no longer viable? They could move to Stagecoach, or it could be an opportunity for Oakley's (they still operate the 52, which is a PCC as opposed to a DCC contract).

Apparently some of PCC tender routes, 19,31,39,44a,54 will not operate after 31st December as they have been withdrawn.
Other services namely 2a sherford extension, 13,14,17,18 27 and 52 will be retendered.
Have heard rumours that 52 will move from Oakleys to Stagecoach but not anything official, not sure about other routes.?

Other services namely 2a sherford extension, 13,14,17,18 27 and 52 will be retendered. Have heard rumours that 52 will move from Oakleys to Stagecoach but not anything official, not sure about other routes.? It is now confirmed by the Plymouth Herald news website that Plymouth City Council will no longer support five bus routes, as part of a package of measures to reduce a funding shortfall. Routes 19, 31, 39, 44A will be withdrawn, most likely from 31st December when a number of contracts are due to expire. In addition, the summer-only 54 to Bovisand Bay is unlikely to operate next year. These are the worst-performing routes financially and cost considerably more than the Council's benchmark of £2 per passenger journey. The 19 and 31 are currently operated by Stagecoach and the 39 and 44A by Plymouth CityBus. Routes 13, 14, 17, 18, 27, 52 and 200 will continue to operate, but may have revised routes and timetables, and different operators, after 31st December. The Sherford extension of route 2A and the 42/42A route around the Seaton neighbourhood, which are also supported by the Council, will also continue. The Council is consulting on a £1 charge for parking at its Park & Ride sites, which would be used to fund the supported bus services. www.plymouthherald.co.uk/news/plymouth-news/five-plymouths-worst-performing-bus-7808800
