So, in Orpington, routes 358, R5, R8, R9 and R10 omit the High Street before 9am on weekdays and go straight up to the station instead.
Wondering if there are any other examples of something similar elsewhere in London where routes have slight changes in peak periods?
Only other on I can think of is the B12 which goes the opposite way round Joyden’s Wood at certain times of day.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I believe a few routes in Ruislip Area onitvyje high street before 09:00 (or certainly used to), cannot load up other websites at the moment due to my VPN being restrict here, and Sunbury Tescos only certain time for buses to go in even though it’s 24hts

As far as I can tell the 216 has now been standardised to serve Sunbury Tesco at all times - not sure if there are any non-TfL routes that skip it at certain times.
Elsewhere the 485 omits the Wetland Centre double-run when it's closed, and the U2 only serves the Oak Farm area of Hillingdon between the peaks.

Only other on I can think of is the B12 which goes the opposite way round Joyden’s Wood at certain times of day. In days of yore, when the 51 ran Farnborough to Woolwich, a 51A ran Green St Green to Eltham Well Hall Station, deviating from the 51 at Blackfen. On the same schedule, some buses, on arrival at Well Hall, changed into 51Bs during peak hours and were sent to Orpington Station instead of GSG. Not all bus conductors 'remembered' to change the front blind number (it could only be done from the top deck, by the conductor) or the canopy box number, so, in practice, 51As did end up at Orpington Station.

The 401 has a Mon-Fri daytime variation where it serves Anderson Way in Belvedere with during other times including weekends it goes directly via Picardy Manorway instead.

166 doesn't go to Epsom and terminates at Banstead in the late evenings (and Sundays).

W19 stops going Argall Avenue in the evenings and terminates at Walthamstow South Grove instead (previously wrongly blinded as "St James Street", even though it doesn't serve the station directly)

Back in the day there was loads of peak-time variations. In my area alone:
Several routes used to extend to "Ford Main Works" including the 25, 129 (Claybury to Becontree Heath), 145, 174, 175, 287, 364.
The 174 used to have a few peak hour trips down to the bottom of Chequers Lane in Dagenham
The 87 used to have peak extensions to Creekmouth, that were replaced by "peak time" only route B4, which was then replaced by peak extensions to the 387.
The biggest I remember was the 62 extending from Hainault to Gants Hill via Barkingside

The 25 Dagenham service was entirely separate from the main route, though; it operated from Dagenham East Station and had a 'lazy' blind. It was only a 25 in the sense that buses/crews came from the 25 schedule, so could just as easily have been numbered 69, or any other route worked by West Ham at the time, if it had been convenient to put it on that schedule! In a similar way, some buses off the 15 at Upton Park got sent down to Beckton at odd times, but at least they were (theoretically) renumbered 100 for those journeys, although crews rarely bothered altering every blind to reflect that. Another oddity for a while was that Upton Park's allocation on the 175 was a peak only one, unique in London at that time for a full-time route, and not something the bus workers' union exactly encouraged!

Dagenham to Victoria on paper up until 92 I believe !

Until 1992, the 196 had peak extensions to Islington from it's usual terminus at Oval so it was possible to do a Norwood Junction to Islington journey in one bus - the peak journeys was removed and it was cut back to Brixton as well until 2005 when it was extended in place of the 322 to Elephant & Castle.

And here's the proof, from Ian's Bus page. There is a photo of a RT actually turning withing the grounds of Ford, if I can find it I'll post it. Attachment Deleted

The 25 also for a time had different weekday and weekend routeing where it went via Bank on weekdays and via Tower of London on weekends

In the Kingston area route 65 had a peak hour extension to Ealing Argyle Road, the 71 had a peak hour extension to Chessington Fox and Hounds( actually in Malden Rushett), certain 85 journeys ran via Telegraph Road on Putney Common, and some 215 journeys ran via Holroyd Road in Claygate. The 406 used to be extended to Redhill from Walton on the Hill. The 219 used to be extended to Weybridge BAE works. Another odd working was a 406 to Redhill that actually used to divert via a ptimary school playground on one journey in the morning and afternoon, whilst in service.
