The 381 has a higher capacity by using DDs, and could perhaps be increased to at least every 10 minutes (especially now being the only route between Waterloo and London Bridge). A 10 minute frequency should be more than adequate.......the 507 is virtually empty now even during peak hours and the situation is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. Can you tell me next weeks lottery numbers then?

I don’t see the point of that, what has it got to do with the 68? More likely that the 188 will be cut back to Waterloo. You could just divert the 381 at Waterloo Road roundabout to Euston. That would create a faster link to Aldwych and Holborn from Bankside and Bermondsey, partly replacing the lost links of route RV1. You would no longer serve York Road or County Hall though. I’ve seen much of rerouting the 381 over Waterloo Bridge - would mean the 381 would serve Waterloo Station really quite poorly compared to all other Waterloo routes, so it’s not in my opinion a great idea. If the 381 is to be extended, better that it heads towards the Westminster Bridge roundabout and maybe beyond. A bus link from Guy’s Hospital direct to St Thomas’ Hospital may be quite appealing - but this is a bit off topic for this thread. If you were to send the 381 over Waterloo Bridge - which seems unlikely given the reductions - it might be better to copy part of the RV1 route to get closer to the station and stop outside the attractions on the South Bank (maybe Cornwall Road, Belvedere Road and York Road). There was a plan to extend the 381 at one point to Lambeth Palace to serve the Evelina Children's Hospital but it came to naught. As for the 507, who knows? I wonder if the tender might get revisited given the sharp decline in office working in Westminster. But then if the PM wants everyone back in the office...

One of my worries about the potential of diverting either the 1 or 188 via the 381 (if it did happen) would be precisely that it wouldn't serve the station well at all which may be an obstacle to any such change occurring.

I don't think the PM quite said that he wants everyone back in the office and of course there was a move towards more working from home before Covid-19. What I could see happening is..... 12... Slight frequency increase. 94... Withdrawn, partly replaced by the 148 and 159 148... Extended to Acton Green. Withdrawn between County Hall and Camberwell and rerouted into Waterloo Station using the current 507 stand. 159... Extended to Notting Hill Gate in part replacement for the 94. 211... Rerouted from Victoria Street via the current 507 route to Waterloo. 274... Withdrawn between Marble Arch and Lancaster Gate. 507 and 521... Withdrawn with the SEe's redeployed elsewhere.

Or here is a suggestion lets aim to get back to normal and not make hasty decisions! It is almost like you want the network to be cut. Not even given anything a chance to get back to normal.
TfL had a chance to withdrawn routes temporarily at the height of the pandemic but never did apart from the X68 and reducing services levels .

You stick to your little fantasy of what you think is going to happen and the rest of us will stick to ours........ might be the best way to proceed?

Withdrawing the 94 would replace the popular links it provides from Oxford Street to Shepherds Bush, the route has plenty of long distance travel on it too so if you were to replace it with the 148 and 159 it would put pressure on the Central Line as the dijrect alternative, I can't see many taking to changing at NHG to be honest, the 148 may serve Marble Arch but the stop isn't in a location where I can imagine many who currently get on the 94 at Oxford Street would walk to.

It's been suggested several times on here that the 94 is likely to be truncated at Marble Arch which would cause the same problem..... either way I can't see both the 94 and 148 surviving in their current form in the long term.

There was no move towards working from home before Covid hence why businesses began adapting to using Zoom & others during lockdown and why Zooms customer increased rapidly so let’s not distort things In any case, the 159 has been proposed to be cut back to Oxford Circus only being replaced at night by the N109 - whether it happens who knows.

I know TfL intend on cutting the 94 back to Marble Arch given they're hell bent on removing bus routes from Oxford Street but I think the 94 would work better if the route wasn't broken in half as you propose. When the cut back does happen the route will still have plenty of potential at the western end and could be extended to somewhere like Brentford, Richmond or Twickenham. I concede that there's a good chance that one of the 94/148 could be axed in future though.
