Do we know how many (extra) buses this will require? (I don’t know much about that area.) I'd estimate in the region of 30-40 or so? Thanks - I hadn't expected so many.

They are getting more E400 MMCs, I believe 8 more. However there will be a review of the new routes they take on from Arriva as I expect many routes will be amalgamated before any buses transfer over.

Is that in addition to the ones for Flightline 102? (there should be seven for this route as it is being doubled in frequency next month). I did wonder if they might buy up some of the surplus Arriva stock, but a cursory look at a fleetlist suggests there is little at High Wycombe and Aylesbury worth having.

Haven't be up there since we had the record 40 degree temperatures but what happened to the MMC's & Citaros that Arriva had?

If Carousel end up taking on most of Arriva’s routes, I’d imagine a move would have to be on the cards, I can’t see how another 20-30 buses would fit into their Hughenden Avenue base.

The E200MMC's Wycombe had when new have either moved to Leicester, Milton Keynes or Luton alongside the ones that were new to those depots. The current fleet at Aylesbury and Wycombe mostly consists of Citaros, 2014/15 E400's and few oddballs such as WF Streetlites, Versas and B9TL/Geminis at Wycombe.

One question: is Red Rose route 40 between Thame and High Wycombe tendered, or commercial? Thanks.

Has that elderly ex London B7TL wearing a Northern Ireland plate gone? It was something like UUI**** and was on the 500 / X5 with some 04 reg DWs

The E200 MMCs were not suited to the Wycombe routes, the poor turning circle meant buses kept scraping the high kerbs around the Green street area of West Wycombe and buses had trouble getting into the bus station.

I do mean the ex London VLW's as that was he was referring to in the post above, but yes you're right about the two they have including 6144 that I managed to ride when it was back in Maidstone which isn't too bad of a bus apart from the Voith gearbox is bit too quiet for liking for a older Voith bus that tends to have a louder gearbox.
