Even with your Europa League win? Obviously it was great to win the Europa League but the Champions League is the big one and if Tottenham had won it........ would we ever hear the last of it? In fairness I thought Arsenal shaded the first half but obviously fell apart in the second. I was supporting Arsenal and Tottenham in those finals. Good thing I’m not a betting man lol. Arsenal were by far the better team in the first half as were Spurs for much of their game, however Chelsea and Liverpool were far more clinical in front of goal. It doesn’t matter how much possession you have if you don’t take your chances. It’s amazing how many Liverpool fans there are in London. We’ll have to put up with their gloating now for another decade 🤣

As a Chelsea fan I was a tad concerned at half time and the change in the second half was quite remarkable. I don't think Petr Cech could be faulted for any of the goals, there was some debate as to whether he should play but he was the perfect professional as always. Liverpool got the early goal through that debatable penalty and seemed happy to sit back with Tottenham posing very little threat, I thought both teams were poor with a few players looking jaded.

Yeah, I didn’t like that whole discussion about Cech’s integrity as I found it a bit insulting to him - he played well as did young Willock in his short cameo off the bench - I hope to see more of him next season. As for the rest, utter garbage and nothing new from most of them, especially Ozil.

From one Chelsea fan to another. I thought it was only a matter of time until Arsenal scored in the first half as Chelsea looked very poor for the first 30 or so minutes. Its sad to see Cech go out having conceded four goals in his last game but regardless, I'm sure he'll be remebered as one of the Premier League's best ever goalkeepers, he has a phenomenal trophy haul. The Champions League final was a dreary affair which sums up the problem with the Premier League seasaon starting so early giving players little time to recover from the World Cup and it showed in the final both teams were fatigued after so many games. The Nations League is going to make this even worse with players not getting every other summer off now (yes I know friendlies exist but they aren't competitive games)

Man city ban has been overturned. Wonder what vjaska thinks about this 😁 It’s bad news for us certainly although I’m confident we’ll finish fourth as Leicester have some tough fixtures coming up and their embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth last night didn’t help their case. Providing they don’t lose to Southampton tonight, Manchester United could finish third as on paper they have the easiest run in although there’s a final day clash against Leicester for them

Man city ban has been overturned. Wonder what vjaska thinks about this 😁 Absolutely terrible decision and just be clear, it has nothing to do with finishing 5th to reach Champions League but the long term implications of allowing cheats to prosper. Today's decision means they can carry on cheating to their hearts content with no comeback on them - meanwhile, anyone outside of them, PSG, Barcelona & Real Madrid will continue to get fines or transfer bans because they don't bung money towards certain people hence why Chelsea get a transfer ban for a more minor issue whilst Barcelona & Madrid can dictate when & how they have served previous ones and City get off far serious charges. I'll say it again - countries should not be allowed to own football clubs especially countries who actively are involved in fraud and murder people for having a voice.

UEFA have their favourites. Pep, is a favourite. The Man City brand is now chasing the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid with being the top teams and top players and coaching in the world. They would never allow city to be banned from the tournament. It’s not a surprise that it’s overturned. UEFA have the power to make such decisions. Remember Liverpool getting special dispensation in 2005-2006 to qualify anyone?
I am a football coach myself; or was, now I am secretary (South western railway FC, check us out on the social media) and I’m sorry to say but football associations will do what’s correct for the most viewings they can get and money they make. The draw of Pep, sterling, aguero, de bruyne etc, would be better than wolves or Leicester unfortunately in the same situation, to the financial implications.

This is embarrassing from Barcelona. Now I didn't expect that big scoreline but it has been coming for Barcelona - the team needs ripping apart and rebuilding a bit like Hammersmith Bridge except Hammersmith Bridge is still standing

Apparently the bookies have Manchester City as favourites for the Champions League this year. Did the bookies not watch Bayern Munich destroy Barca?

Apparently the bookies have Manchester City as favourites for the Champions League this year. Did the bookies not watch Bayern Munich destroy Barca? The bookies have had Mancheating City as the favourites for the last 3-4 years - Bayern Munich could of put 50 past Barca and City would of still been favourites. Anyway, let them be favourites - it can sometimes be a hindrance as Chelsea found out in the last two FA Cup Finals they've Arsenal in. What I found funny was listening to the pundits criticise Bayern's highline which in fairness is problematic if playing City but made very little reference to the fact that City's defence is hardly stellar itself - take Laporte out and what's left isn't particularly great as we've seen on many occasions. Bayern at least have two good fullbacks in Davies & Kimmich whilst Alaba has done remarkably well at centre back despite being a full back by nature and Sule has missed a large chunk of the season.

So much for favourites - City set to be dumped out by 7th placed Lyon who failed to qualify for Europe next season unless they win the Champions League - City get everything that cheats deserve, fair play to Lyon and best of luck to them against Bayern Munich
