So all the teams that were playing post lockdown football in July are out from Spain, England and Italy. Those that remain are the teams from France who never returned and Germany who had a month off after finishing in June. Those four teams were also the teams scoring all the late goals this week.

Over the season our defending hasn’t been too bad. However we don’t have any world class defenders so we are prone to giving away the odd easy goal. The defending for Sevilla’s second goal was schoolboy stuff. Sevilla deserved to go through because they took their chances and we didn’t. Our finishing has concerned me more than our defending in the last few games. I think in some cases our attackers have made the keepers look good. We need a world class central defender, striker and attacker to improve on third place. Ole has got us playing good football again, but he can’t play the same 11 or 12 players week in week out for a whole season.

You need a new manager as well IMO - I’ve seen very little that makes me think he could be good compared to Arteta or Lampard. Bruno Fernandes is the only reason Man Utd got in the top four and he bottled three semi finals through a combination of tactics, selection & lack of urgency when things go wrong. Poch is available, a manager who is good and it would be good to see what he’d do with a club that actually provides funds to improve the squad.

No change of manager for me, all the changes need to happen on the pitch. We need 2-3 world class signings over the next 2-3 transfer windows and we will be on our way to winning trophies again. What has Poch actually won? Nothing. I think OGS has improved the team massively by getting us to play faster, more attacking football. Bringing in Mike Phelan was a great move by OGS in helping us to get our identity back on the pitch. The main issue is that we need better quality players to make such a style of play work. Bruno fits the style, but there are many who don’t and OGS is slowly getting rid of them. OGS has a winning mentality and seems to be an excellent man-manager. Look at our bench. Tell me who OGS could have brought on to change the game? He was reduced to bringing on Jesse Lingard in the last few games! He sees mediocrity in the squad and is refusing to trust it. How can he be at fault for that? Three semi finals and third place isn’t brilliant, but it isn’t a bad platform to build from.

How can he be at fault for that? Three semi finals and third place isn’t brilliant, but it isn’t a bad platform to build from. What has Ole won? Nothing beyond the Norwegian League oh and relegation with Cardiff. Poch was at several small clubs including Spurs , improved each team before he left and whilst at Spurs, he had peanuts to spend so no wonder he didn't win any trophies but he did make a Champions League final and mounted two title pushes which is so far more than Ole. As I said, and remember I support Arsenal here so it's no bias towards Poch, but give the man some actual funds to spend and you could genuinely be a force. Bruno Fernandes got the identity back not Ole - before he signed, all United could do was counter attack and more often than not, not particularly well. Ole picked the benches for all these games so if he doesn't trust them, pick other players - managers make too many excuses whether it's I've not got the right players or injuries - Man Utd unlike Arsenal have oodles of money and have wasted their windows under previous managers and to an extent under Ole as well - he could of got Fernandes in the summer, didn't get a top striker, over paid for a debatable defender in Maguire, didn't shore up the 25 man squad.

Going for a Bayen Munich win tonight. Score 2.1 Yeah I'd go with that - Lewandowski & Gnabry for Bayern with Di Maria for PSG

Very happy to see Bayern as winners, better than that cheating French team. Shame my prediction was way off
