I should hope the government implement their rumoured lockdown sometime on Friday afternoon, don't want the "me me me" folk to continue ignoring government advice and carrying on with their Friday night cocaine fuelled parties and risk further spread... On a transport related note, if all TfL services get suspended, could some buses be re-deployed elsewhere and perhaps used to create special services for emergency service/health workers connecting hospitals & police stations for example. I would assume these services would definitely need a police presence on them though. At what point did the advice to "use public transport normally" change to "only essential travel"? Too much is slipping though unannounced and unchallenged. From looking out of my window here in Huddersfield it seems as though people are continuing to use the buses normal, still seem to have healthy loads. This will unfortunately be the reason why we get placed on lockdown if it comes to that, because people are not listening to the government's advice. The only journey I will make in the next week will be an essential journey to relocate back to London for the "holidays" unless anything changes. I understand that various different garages are really screwed for drivers at the moment. Lots of overtime available at Morden Wharf at the moment as a lot of drivers (including myself are currently self isolating (my son was experiencing symptoms)) so that has resulted in a lot of blowouts and staff cuts.
Not sure the Saturday service will be sufficient, and I doubt it'll be long before it's further reduced to a Sunday schedule.

Looks like despite all the rumours there will be NO lockdown this week after all! Seems life goes on as normal for now. Bet bars and restaurants will still be full this weekend.

I do normally check to make sure I don't repeat something that has normally has been said because I was being lazy so apologies. I don't want to cause another petty argument on this forum because there has been a lot recently. There is nothing wrong about reaping something twice in a major issue such as this. Apologies, I was tired and maybe there was a slight overreaction on my part. I neither want to cause any petty arguments so hoping you will accept my apology and move on. Stay safe and well everyone! That's OK we do stupid things when we are tired lol.

Circle Line: A 30 minute service will operate in the clockwise direction and a 15 minute service in the anticlockwise direction due to operational restrictions
Hammersmith and City Line: A 15 minute service is operating on the entire line due to operational restrictions

Lol, under normal circumstances duplicating posts does annoy me a little bit but obviously this isn't normal circumstances and if you miss something then that's understandable.

I would have thought they would have closed a lot more stations than that. I especially would have thought that Heathrow Airport stations would have been closed. The airport still have skeleton flights in operation to get respective nationals back to home ground. ... and there must be a lot of workers there just to sustain the airport whether there are flights or not. The list of station closures looks very well thought out to me - mostly ones which need a fair number of staff but are not strategic interchanges, isolated from alternative options or serving major objectives. I'm guessing there may well be further lists if the staffing position demands it.

Yes, people just do not seem to be getting the idea that only "Essential" travel needs to take place. I work in one of the Oxford Street department stores and nothing we actually sell there is essential yet people still seem to be coming in to buy clothes and gifts. According to this article: www.standard.co.uk/news/london/coronavirus-obey-rules-london-sadiq-khan-lockdown-a4391796.htmlSeems Londoners are only going to be given a few more chances to stick to essential travel. If not they're going to start to fine people who are out and about with no good reason. It's a bit silly as those who are out and about unnecessarily don't usually affect themselves but just increase the risks of someone more vulnerable getting a fatal variant of the virus.

Does Italy prove that a lockdown works ... they have one in place and currently the worse stats ... looking at Italy in isolation would say that is not the way to go.
