Utterly bizarre. We want clear roads so vital workers can get to work. So let’s remove charges That are designed to minimise congestion :/ ehhh another epic khan fckup I'm far from being Khan's biggest fan but surely suspending payment means vital workers can get around Central London without having an extra cost to worry about? Makes sense to me , far better to "social distance" in your own car then on a bus spreading if you have it also people in the zone might need time critical deliveries there is going to be alot of change for a long while .

But I thought public transport was still being run for that purpose. I agree it does seem bizarre especially as Traffic last week in places was as bad as normal. Okay there is likely to be less school traffic this week.

Central London has been much quieter recently and will be even quiter with virtually everything now closed. However if somebody has to go out and they have access to a car they should use it and leave public transport for those who need it.

Sorry this is one thing Khan has got spot on.

A bit of a shocking U-turn after earlier in the week Khan said it would not be suspended. Bailey was calling for it to be suspended and free parking for NHS staff.

It is the early morning trains are full, this is nothing new, as it carries many of the workers going to jobs opening up the city or cleaners. It was ridiculous unions taking pics of this and making it out that it was the rush hour. When the rush hour was completely dead.

It's not really a big surprise that he has taken this action in a major incident like this. If I was him I would have done the same thing.

I am guessing the 15H could well be withdrawn completely now as it wont be able to run until late Summer!
I know this is the least of worries just needed a distraction from the negative news.

You raise a good point. Given the vast majority of Khan's policies having looked to clamp down on driving, it is quite different. However, I fully support this and hope it prevents the spread of COVID 19 for the aforementioned reasons.

Went for a quick bike ride this afternoon in my area, not often you get to say this but was good to see many buses running with very little people on them. The busiest route I saw was a 493 with about 6 people on it, this route serves Queen Mary's and St George's Hospitals so this was understandable.
