426 was the Arrow with a full rear display- originally delivered to DM in yellow but was restricted to the 179 as it had an NP blindset. It (eventually) transferred to NP and (I think) was repainted into the red/yellow livery. Like 238, the rear display wasn't that reliability. I can't remember what it's "favourite" display was, but the rear blinds on 238 were stuck on "67 Trafalgar Square" Was it R426 SOY by any chance? That's the one- was the only R-registered one delivered to DM before the big R-ULE batch for the 76 and 259. I don't know if any of those Arrows still exist, but they were quite quirky vehicles- especially with their tip up seats and what looked like a wheelchair/buggy area on a step entry vehicle. Shame none (that I know of) made it into preservation

Me too! Judging by this MMC, I assume it has new blinds that contain blinds for the 135, and perhaps the W13 and the other WH routes too!

Speaking about those Arrows. They were splendid on the 369 and also up in North London on the 259 especially that stretch from Manor House to Seven Sisters. Those buses could fly. When stagecoach had those Alexander PS Dennis Lances. They really were short lived in London. It's a shame non of those buses were preserved. ThinLizzy I still laugh at that infamous story you mentioned a while back in regards to the lance breaking down. I know J116WSC got scrapped in 2012.

Which was why when I saw S218LLO on the list for this year's event I made it a target to get that bus because most of that batch has been scrapped when they went to Yorkshire. As for 13102 entering service on the 97. As mentioned by ! ALEED I will definitely keep an eye out for that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to have grown up where I was where I could sample RM's, L's (the proper ones), M's & T's as well as others like VC's & NV's without leaving my area but it would of been nice to sample an Arrow once. Same can be said for a Dominator, never rode one of them either (the LT ones on the 133 were before I was born)

Capital Citybus had a good variety of them, the H-reg Northern Counties bodied ones allocated to the 97 at NP and 248 at DM were very much like an Metrobus or Titan in terms of internal layout but were incredibly slow- I think they had a speed of 0-60 in about 3 days. From what I remember of my time working at Capital, they were either loved or hated by drivers, there was no in between. Some drivers swore by them and would always take them out on Rail Replacements- the H-regs certainly weren't popular with the drivers on the 369 when they sometimes popped up on that route. There was one retired school teacher who always worked lates on Rail jobs, so would end up taking a Dominator to all ends of the Tube network, as back then, the last bus ran "as required" to the end of the tube line. As that driver generally gave me a lift home, I would often help him find his way to High Barnet from Camden Town etc at 2 in the morning. They also had some East Lancs bodied ones acquired from Southampton Citybus, initially for the 257. These still had adverts for Southampton Citybus route 17 inside for a few years. Capital were pretty good at retrimming the seats to their standard Blue moquette, but these kept their Southampton seat trim for a while as well- they also sounded completely different to the H-reg ones and also some F-reg ones from Leicester Citybus which again were pretty strange vehicles. The Arrows were pretty good to be fair, the ones on the 179 flew along Woodford Avenue. The East Lancs Pyoneer ones were pretty strange looking, with the read door just by the rear axle- whilst that's now the standard layout in London, I can't think of any double deckers that had that layout before them. The rear number blind was also in a pretty odd poistion below the lower deck window, accessed by a really awkward hatch behind the rear seats that you had to kneel on the rear seat and reach down into change the rear blind.

I think the rest of them ended up at Stagecoach Ribble. That was quite a strange few years at Stagecoach, with them transferring dual-doored Plaxton Pointer Darts from Oxford into BK that had full width rear displays that were fitted with the side blinds with via points on them, along with the Stagecoach national liveried B6s and B10Ms on the 247, and the two or three Titans at NS that carried the full Stagecoach stripes livery. At least one of them had been converted to single door, with the area where the rear door was converted to a "standing" area.

Not sure if anyone can confirm, but I believe that the B9TLs have started being withdrawn from service. I believe 16970 is the first to be withdrawn!
