Amazing how the NIMBYs didn't get any cracks in their houses when Titans, Metrobuses, Fleetlines and Atlanteans were in charge around Abbey Wood Lane Stupid residents, I hope TFL do not back track, the 165 desperately needs DD’s speak to the passengers that actually use the route it can be a cattle bus sometimes and they even miss stops due to being too full at times. I wrote a complaint about the opposite to this stating the 165s were severely over capacity and needed double deckers a few weeks ago so it’s nice to see TFL actually act upon a complaint about capacity though I know I am not the only one and there have been others that have also complained about overcrowding on the route. They would absolutely be the first to complain about a "lack of buses" to take them down into Rainham Village if TfL cut the number of buses going down to Abbey Wood Lane. Years ago there was a lady who lived by the stand on Abbey Wood Lane who would come out of her house to shout at any driver who left their engine running on the stand.

So here we go, another DD into service. EDIT: The 165s will be increasing its double deckers today with the engineer saying most of the SDs are being taken out of service today. Hopefully them residents enjoy the ‘vibration’ 😂

Determined not to let these residents win I have emailed TFL commending them and supporting the double decking of route 165. I know I keep posting about the route but this double decking should have been done years ago.

Obviously double deckers are heavier and if they are causing damage then residents aren't going to be happy.

68-Reg being taken out of service again and replaced by other RM buses: 37527 replaced by 19725 37536 replaced by 37581 I guess we’ll see how things go throughout today but with E400s arriving yesterday for the 165 it is entirely possible RM are going to start moving the 68 reg to their new homes over the course of the next few days. Don't think the residents of Abbey Wood Estate will be happy 😂😂 thehaveringdaily.co.uk/2021/08/27/double-decker-bus-drama-for-rainham/Simple solution sell house and move why should a route have reduced capacity because of selfishness.

Will all due respect it may not make a difference but I think trying is better than doing nothing and I don’t believe the rubbish these residents come out with, they may change their tune if TFL decide to chop the route to Rainham Tesco and provide Abby Wood Lane estate with no bus service. Your entitled to your own views.

Simple solution sell house and move why should a route have reduced capacity because of selfishness. 100% agree, this is not because the reasons these residents have listed it’s simply because it’s common knowledge that most of these residential complaints are anti-double decker. Just been down the road mentioned in the complaint and roads are fine so let’s take the road issue off the list.

Let's hope so, it's atleast got a foot in the door now like with the 212 which temporarily went DD and stayed DD.

Should also help that the 287 is already a DD route which they also want to make a SD route and is increasing its frequency next year so if one route can do it why can’t the other.

I live in a residential area with two day routes and two night routes and they do have an impact both on noise and vibration. I appreciate the need for bus services and the NIMBY aspect but please do appreciate people do have a right to complain.

In addition people should be maintaining their homes anyways if they own one so complaining about cracks is utter foolishness.

Simple solution sell house and move why should a route have reduced capacity because of selfishness. What if they are council residents? Also let’s not forget the 165 is going double decker because it’s convenient for TfL / Stagecoach to release buses for other routes.

Something would have been said before now if this was the case double deckers have ran frequently on the 165 for years and the 287 has been double decker for years. The residents in this area especially the older ones are known. For their opposition to double deckers.

Well tough… They don’t own the roads and don’t have any rights for what runs down it. If I were all them campaign to remove the 165 from Abbey Wood Lane and they’ll soon campaign to have it restored just like when the N171 was removed from Hither Green for 5 years because of noisy PVLs.
