Work is now underway to add more charges for the 247. There’s at least 5 afaik being put in. Also 82057 is now at NS. Not sure whether for service but hopefully as that could possibly mean the last 19 (19818) be gone Does NS still run the 256's school journey?

I rode the U3 a few times and another routes nearby for the Tridents and I noticed that the loadings were very high going into Heathrow, for instance downstairs would get packed + lots of luggage and then upstairs most seats were taken so I think that’s another mid-contract DD conversion which could be kept Tbh once a route converts to deckers whatever the circumstances they never go back, as it usually boosts loadings. I can’t think of an example there DD routes have gone back to single deckers except for the low floor buses in the 2000s like the 183, 257 etc Route 296 and 396 have both had almost full decker allocations

Would you not just create a 165D instead which runs using a double deck? No, the 165 is busy throughout the whole day, it barely manages single during the daytime and does not manage singles during peaks is what im trying to get at. Passing Romford Station-Market, Elm Park Station then hotspots such as Rainham Tesco, Hornchurch Town Centre, Abbey Wood Estate then you add on top of this it passes 2 colleges that have students finishing various different times and passes/is in very close distance to multiple schools. I still do not find the 165 that busy apart from peaks. Other routes like W15 would make the 165 look like it was a wilderness route.

86194 is another electric into service at LI. It was used on the 678 yesterday and on the 58 today.

Sorry if this has been answered already but what batch of buses is the W13 using for its last week at HK? I know it’s given some / all of its buses to the 310. Also is there a plan for it’s existing buses long term? Are they moving to an upcoming tender.
I don’t keep up with the different length buses especially when they all look identical apart from the length. Hard to tell as different buses are used daily when looking on LVF.

The W13 route will transfer to LI this Saturday as it is being extended to Leyton Mills using E200 MMCs and some ex-W14 E200s AFAIK. Those ex-W14 E200s will then transfer to 310 once new electrics arrive for the W13/W14 routes replacing ex-165 E200 MMCs. Happy to be corrected

All short term until the electrics arrive for the W routes.

The W14 was introduced in 1989 as the new number itself of the 206, running from Leytonstone to the old Claybury Hospital. 1996 saw it cut back to its present northern terminus of Woodford Bridge, and it was extended at the southern end to Leyton in 2000, and to Leyton Mills in 2005. Originally operated by Eastern National, the route passed to County Bus from a base in Debden, which later became part of the Arriva group. Arriva operated the route until 2012 when it passed to First at Lea Interchange. The final W14 bus this evening will depart Leyton at 0020. It will be running number LI 107, worked by 37571 YY64YKO.
