In addition to the above (and the existing Woolwich Ferry) ideally they should be introduced at further locations, including Barking Riverside to Thamemead, and around the Isle of Dogs. I have my doubts a Thamesmead to Barking ferry would work in isolation - it might work as part of an extension of the Clipper, but my feeling is very few people would want to cross the river at that point in either direction. Maybe less so to just cross to the other side of the river, but with a number of frequent bus routes at both sides, it might be useful for passengers making longer journeys from SE to NE London? Also people living in Barking Riverside may want to use the shops in Thamesmead, while those in Thamesmead might want to use the Overground from Barking Riverside.

I can see the merit in sending the Overground over, simply because chances are going via Barking or Blackhorse Road could be a convenient way for people to get into Central London.

Instead of in isolation, have the SL3 or another Thamesmead terminator extended to Barking using the ferry. On the other side, perhaps EL1 is a bit much with it's frequency but is a 24-hour route. Either way, adding regular buses (not just out of service ones) into the mix alongside passengers and cyclists as normal, would mimic part of what Thames Gateway bridge could've delivered. To guarantee reliability and avoiding either side of this ferry from being traffic hotspots, private traffic wouldn't be allowed. But should offer good transport. That or just bus lanes incorporated into DLR's extension.

25 and 425 retained 25 on a 5 year existing vehicles 425 on a 7 year with electrics Assuming the 425 is staying at BW, this also means all main Stagecoach garages will be electrified (excluding KB)

Personally I think that the original bridge plans - Canary Wharf to Rotherhithe pedestrian bridge, Thamesmead-Gallons Reach and Dagenham-Belvedere bridges as well as the Lower Thames crossing all need to happen. We need to get to west London levels of connectivity across the river by bus and on foot or bike

Stagecoach has been awarded the new Silvertown Tunnel Bike Shuttle contract and will use existing buses from 323 which will be retrofitted to accommodate cycles Can regular passengers use the route? I cannot see it being a success and just a tick box exercise to appease the psycolist lycra bridgade lobby. Like many of these things give it two years and it would be cancelled because lack of use.

I am going to sound negative but I do think the cycle bus is going to be a flop! Yes there might be demand around the peaks but outside of that I can see the buses carrying fresh air. I am glad new buses are not being purchased and hopefully the conversion won't cost a huge amount. I think TFL really need to look into passenger ferries to cross the Thames at various locations in East London. I'm sure there would be a lot of demand for pedestrians get across the river as well as cyclists, and ferries are a lot cheaper than constructing any form of bridge or tunnel. A ferry from Greenwich Peninsula to Silvertown would be quicker than the bus anyway, as it would cross over directly, rather than looping round to the tunnel portals. Plus taking into account the traffic congestion. In addition to the above (and the existing Woolwich Ferry) ideally they should be introduced at further locations, including Barking Riverside to Thamemead, and around the Isle of Dogs. That's the long term ambition mentioned in the cycle shuttle consultation. They just don't have the funding (and want to see how well received it would be first). The cycle shuttle isn't particularly brilliant for any of the parties.

BZL 86196 seems to have started recently on the 58 and it has the Stagecoach logo at the front. Cant recall what the latest with that was but very few have a logo at the front. Many have logos on the sides now.

That or just bus lanes incorporated into DLR's extension. There was a proposal to move the Woolwich Ferry downriver but there is no way that a bus service could use the ferry. Waits and boarding times would be excessive.
