I see quite a few DX buses every day on the 175, 325 and 368 and have to say they don't look that bad for vehicles of their age. I'm surprised how much flack DX gets from certain people, especially when you consider how grotty some of River Roads vehicles are inside and out. Some of the 147 E400s from RR are awful! Honestly can’t wait for the Hybrid upgrade next year! Just hope they are newer than the existing hybrids at RR at the moment! Would love the 17 regs but guessing they will still be on the 5 unless anything changes before then. Would seem likely to be the 16reg MHVs, since the 40 gets new electrics around the same time and with a similar PVR. Wouldn't be enough from the 5 anyway - though if fully converted to LTs, I could see its EHs used for the 368.

Es are some of my favourite Go-Ahead vehicles but after one ride on the 147 I can see why you say this! The bus is so painfully slow and overcrowded from the moment it reaches Barking Road towards Ilford and the buses are in a bad state - they honestly deserve a break. Routes like the 57 or 486 can get great speeds with E400s yet everything in Newham feels like a drag.

It’s been mentioned here that route 50 is to transfer to TC in September, but now that we are in October, has it been deferred to a new date or this change won’t happen?

I tell you what, I don’t even think DX deserve the flack they get. I did my first journey on the 325 a couple of weeks ago. I saw on the buses app ENL70 would be the bus, and I was imagining it would up falling to pieces covered in gaffa tape with an oily smell and the rear end covered in oil. What turned up was totally the opposite. A few knocks and dents yes, but nothing out of the ordinary you wouldn’t expect on any 12 year old bus, the paintwork was even shiny. And okay yes the blind box wasn’t the best. And the interior was absolutely immaculate I have to say, except for a couple of rust patches at the bottom of the rear door. I even took pictures of it I was so pleasantly surprised by it, shame it won’t let me upload them here as they’re too large. But a very very presentable bus for 12 years old, so from my experience of this bus and the 325 I really didn’t see where the stick they get comes from. and yes all old E200s are at least pretty rattly, but I’ve experienced far worse than this one. If you run into DX everyday, they very much deserve all the flack they get. Because most of it comes from yourself. I use their services and many others and it is no way as bad. The worst of their vehicles is the 300 series DW's that have not been refurbed. But they are no different to some of the Scania's or E400 from [RM] that I use or some of the WVL's from Go-Ahead on the 5.

It was suggested that the 50 would move to TC when the 264 went but obviously that hasn't happened, presumably not happening but who knows?

Only downside about some E is the rear blindbox glass internally some of them is extremely dirty from the engine bay and upper deck passenger saloon heater suction. You can hardly even see what bus number it is.

There was never anything confirmed about the 50 moving to TC or any other Arriva London South Routes moving only speculation. 64 & 612 are not moving garages either. They are staying put.

Just out of curiousity does anyone know if SW1 (LK64DVV) is withdrawn?

It did get the engine rebuilt after so many months off the road. It went out last week on the 329 and was throwing all sorts of electrical ECU problems and running in limp mode; related to the new engine. So had to go back off the road.

There has been an unofficial strike this morning at Palmers Green garage by one driver blocking the garage, very limited service.

Seems to be quite a bit of dissatisfaction about the pay deal...... www.wsws.org/en/articles/2022/10/04/ootw-o04.html
