From what I've heard the last week or so from a few different people DX is meant to be next on the chopping block. Its still a rumour so nothing officially pointing to it as of yet but what I was told is Arriva did not submit a bid to retain the 150 or 175's, being that they're the last two routes operating from the garage once the 325's pass to Go Ahead the assumption is the garage will go alongside.

Purely from an enthusiast perspective it makes east London very dull. I guess there is a small possibility of Arriva gaining the SL2 from EC.

I agree, it would be a shame to lose the 150's and 175's they're fairly good routes with quite a few good drivers on there. Arriva London seems to be in a tight financial spot at the moment and I assume DX must be the next weakest link in the chain after AE and with the recent losses doesnt help the image of the garage

Indeed, I would have thought Arriva could still bid the 175 from GY at least, though we would see if that is the case, I wouldn't be surprised if the 150 ends up at Stagecoach from BK or Go-Ahead from RR.

I think the writing was on the wall with the continued lack of potential work coming in, I imagine RR setting up down the road could be what ended up causing it. I can imagine a lot of drivers will not be very happy if this is true but I think Arriva do need to be applauded for keeping the garage going until the route's tender. I'm sure they could have sold up instead otherwise. I don't think East London will be much duller without them, GY should still be present in the Romford area and Stagecoach and Go Ahead will probably ensure between themselves that no tender in the area is predictable. Wouldn't be surprised to see the 175 heading to Stagecoach and the 150 to Go Ahead, should be enough space at RR for the 150 and enough space at RM for the 175. Stagecoach started it with the 128 and 173 tenders, Go Ahead continued with the 368 and 325 tenders, the final blow could be a split between the two.

BK won't have the space for the 150 unless something moves out as the 238 should replace the space left by the 366.

It was the lack of securing additional work to go into [DX] it then has become unviable financially running it, even though the 150 and 175 and profitable routes. The company was not prepared to lower prices on certain routes they did bid for to secure new work and no surprise it has bitten them in the ass.

I remember when Tottenham had DW294 for a little while in 2017, what an absolute beast! The 2 series ones at GY have put in such a shift on punishing 50 routes and NSL roads, it would be sad to see them go. I assume the 243 will get the new shape Electroliners (new TfL spec) with the lights that look like they've been swiped from an early Kia Niro?

As an enthusiast , I’m beginning to realise how bland the EVs are and find them quite boring. They are smooth and comfortable , and stylish yes. But I miss the engines. I’m reminded what I really liked about the first types of buses i traveled on (LSs , SNBs , Ms) - and it was the sound and smell of the engines and how different the buses were. M199 (FW) was a heap always breaking down & had a proper throaty engine rattling away. M194 & M189 however , only a few builds away from each other , were superb and hummed . I could tell blindfolded which was which. Good for environment (provided they don’t burn and provided the batteries & all parts are recycled ) , but give me T7 / T11 / T38 any day of the week over an EV

SW4 seems to be the most popular of the four at TC, I saw it on the 312 recently with Enfield on the front! I assume they will be moving elsewhere once the EMC issues have been resolved?
