The 450 departs Arriva tonight, who've operated it since its introduction in 1993. It has spent most of its life at TH, from 1993-2007 and again from 2011-2016, with the move to N in 2016 necessitated by the win of route 64.
The final trip this evening will be N 6, worked by SLS13 LK66AOC, which will be the 0005 departure from West Croydon.

As much as I'm disappointed it's leaving, give it a chance under Go-Ahead first

Well, it's the last day of Arriva running the 450 tomorrow, does anyone know where the SLS will be going, whether they will go to TH? SLS5 seems like it has moved over to TH today SLS5 is now on the 450 again. Had a feeling it was a last minute loan.

Just saw the duty cards for the 450 under GAL. 1hr 5-7 end to end during peak time. When it travels through numerous schools, rush hour, horrible traffic, I think it’s extremely tight. It’s very close to an hour when I travel on it end to end off peak. Some timetable leniency should be in place for this route. I feel like it may get changed very quickly.

Not much difference to our peak trips. Many are 1 hour 12 mins with the trips to West Croydon overtimed.

I assume half of them will go to the 410 to give it a full allocation of SLSs, with the ENSs withdrawn. Could some of the ENS’s not transfer to DT to replace the 09 ENX/L’s? The final letters of the bus codes (S then X/L) suggest this will not happen.

When will the 29 go up for tender, and are the LJ13s even compliant for a retainment? 29s got a two year contract extension from what I heard and no its HVs will need replacement for its next contract. Hopefully its HVs will be retained as interim replacements for DWs which could then replace older Arriva stock outside London.

I think the writing was on the wall with the continued lack of potential work coming in, I imagine RR setting up down the road could be what ended up causing it. I can imagine a lot of drivers will not be very happy if this is true but I think Arriva do need to be applauded for keeping the garage going until the route's tender. I'm sure they could have sold up instead otherwise. I don't think East London will be much duller without them, GY should still be present in the Romford area and Stagecoach and Go Ahead will probably ensure between themselves that no tender in the area is predictable. Wouldn't be surprised to see the 175 heading to Stagecoach and the 150 to Go Ahead, should be enough space at RR for the 150 and enough space at RM for the 175. Stagecoach started it with the 128 and 173 tenders, Go Ahead continued with the 368 and 325 tenders, the final blow could be a split between the two. I do think the 175 will be back at Stagecoach, they will want that route back. It was one of NS’s longest serving routes before passing over to Arriva In a way I hope route 175 returns to Stagecoach. It has seemed odd having routes 174 & 175 with different operators.

Now we know Arriva haven’t gone for the 175 this time round I think it’s very highly likely to be back at Stagecoach. GAL doesn’t seem to pose too much of a threat to Stagecoach’s Romford routes, without a garage in the area they don’t have too much of a presence. It’s definitely the area I’d define as Stagecoach’s ‘safe zone’, and from what I hear where Stagecoach’s most profitable routes are I wouldn't say that, hasn't it just been suggested that DX haven't bid? GY is within the 175s operable distance so could very well go there. I do think the 150 might be a goner though.

Yeah I might have misread into that, corrected as necessary and will go back and find the original post EDIT: yes it’s just rumoured so was incorrect to point that out. I’ve deleted it
