What’s the current mood at TH concerning the pending tenders? Everyone is just waiting patiently, while type training for the ES is yet to begin Good luck to my local garage . What’s your favourite route at TH?

Depends which part of the route you had the ENX on. On the Purley Way these things go at a snails pace! They are the slowest batch of E200's in London that I've ever experienced and even the three that moved over from E are just as bad. I do wonder however if it's just a case of TH not cleaning out their filters, but either way this batch haven't been looked after well at all. I used to be on the 289 rota, and I came off it just based on how bad the buses are, especially ENX7. It doesn't move until the accelerator pedal is all the way to the floor, and the hill after the Colonnades doesn't achieve more than 15mph and is a 40mph road. I cannot wait for the 289 tender so that it can get proper buses I think questions should be asked as to whether that bus is fit for service. Aren't some of the T's as bad? I know somebody who uses the 64 regularly and he said some buses barely even move, he was delighted when I told him about the upcoming electric buses. What route are you on now?

We tell the engineers it is not fit for service, yet they still put it out and it gets subbed again. I am on spares so I do everything. I did 64 yesterday and both buses were just so slow, both had no power moving off and going uphill is a joke

A 450 driver who has now moved to C I think has been on it since the 90s after a while refused to do 109 & 250. 250 & 450 funny enough are high for fare evasion.

I once had a T doing, I kid you not, 5mph uphill in New Addington. Let’s hope the ESs remain in good nick

I didn't mind mine (12-reg IIRC) on route 289 in January. Conversely, I shunned those at DT last August as they seemed dreadful. My ride was from Purley to Thornton Heath Pond. It was not just the vehicle but the route by-passing central Croydon that interested me. Come to think of it, there may have been typically a 10 second wait for the bus to accelerate, but I hardly noticed and didn't mind.

I know E200s are not great, but this was exceptionally bad. I generally find the longer examples are worse than the shorter ones, the ENS on the 410 are nowhere near as bad in comparison. Although I did find my ENX on route 289 reasonable, I did like the ENSs more all along. I have done one on route W11 in 2013 and 410 in 2021. These ENSs might be good for route 318, enabling single-door ENRs to replace older buses elsewhere within Arriva.

I would say it takes about 20 seconds to move off, takes forever to get up to the speed of the road. By the time I can get to a good speed, I have to stop. Both the front doors and back doors take forever to open and close. Was going up St Leonards Church in Streatham which is a bit of a hill, kid you not, 1-2 mph, such a hazard on the road. It has no power whatsoever

T103 shoots up Anerley Hill like nothing, unlike the TH Ts and ENSs

I cannot wait for the 289 tender so that it can get proper buses Would you say Ts do better on that section of the 289 or the ENXs?
