With ES48 now entering service, the 417 now has a full ES allocation(on paper at least) compromising of ES29-30, 32, 38-39, 41-45, 47-48 & 50. This is unless the three earlier ESs are not allocated to the 417 but to the 50 or 133. I wouldn’t read anymore into it other than that’s probably how they came out of storage, no point doing a huge Tetris game if ES40/46/9 are boxed in. There’s ample time to get everything in the right place when they all enter service on the 64 Some more have been delivered to [EC] for check over pending transfer to [TH]

I know on the BN examples (as in I've seen them in the flesh) they at least have 50, 133, 319, 417 & N137 (ES44 was displaying N137 on the rear the other day when I took a end to end ride on it on the 133). One of the ES's inside BN yesterday was showing 319 on the rear) So you haven’t seen any displaying 333 just yet? I find it hilarious how they wasted no time in training 133 drivers on ESs, but there’s yet to be an EA on 417 or an ES on 319 No, haven’t seen 333 displayed. The EA’s aren’t blinded for the 417 AFAIK

It’d be nice if they entered service on the 64 before the end of the year I am close to the mentors and have asked them to send me any notifications/notices about type training beginning, nothing yet. I reckon they will start to enter service in the new year

As I mentioned before, they weren't tracking correctly. ES32 attempted to go out on the 133 today but only made it up to Brixton on its deadrun before being driven back to BN at about 10am. It then went on the 50 from 10:30-13:10 and then the 417 from 13:40 and still is on the 417. ES30 simply worked on the 50 from 15:20-18:30. The tracking error isn't down to these buses, there's a data feed issue affecting certain buses and routes, 142 has been affected since Wednesday. We have a wandering ES: ES 44 is out on 133 It also creates a unique opportunity to see an ADL EV and Wright EV on the same route. We also see what might have been had route 133 been retained by Arriva.

I’m not convinced, it’s all well and good the buyer being infrastructure minded but if the company isn’t producing results to at least cover the cost of the infrastructure it wouldn’t be ideal. I expect once the sale is completed to hear of pieces broken off and more cost cutting measures. That’s exactly what is going to happen..Might be worth adding that Go Ahead we’re also going to purchase Southern Counties but pulled out at the last minute. I think I Squared will basically retain Arriva Bus UK but agree to ad-hoc divestments of interest to other parties. Outside London they could start with Derby to Rotala for example. Barring an unexpected bid from a new 3rd party, I think they will keep the core London operation (former LBL Leaside, South London plus integrated London Country / County Bus operations). However, they seem a bit more likely to divest DT & GY to GA or Stagecoach (potentially both gaining 1 garage each).

I assume the ES allocations will be as follows: ES51-83 (279) ES84-113 (243) ES114-130 (50) ES131-146 (194) ES147-170 (250) ES171 (689) ES172-188 (289) ES189 (663) This is obviously banking on the assumption all these routes will get ES It's a big order so Arriva London may dual-source and order some vehicles from ADL, or possibly even Volvo. Yes, when I was on my EA on route 319 yesterday it seemed hard to imagine no more would be built for Arriva London.

Good news for Arriva London retained all the routes and won SL2 amount of works lost good to see them bounce back DX staying open let's hope they win 5 15 115 N15 retained 150 175 move 66 to DX Moving things out of GY is something I’m not sure will happen. Apparently GY is quite a low cost base due to being outside London, so I’d assume moving routes from there into London would increase running costs, even if the garage is a fair trek from most of the routes Furthermore, there is the matter of what else would take place of current routes. It is a good base for routes heading north or east of Romford in particular.

It would make sense to stick with ESs for the TH routes for a common fleet with the 64 (and similarly for the 279 at E. But they could go for a different type for the 243, or any future tenders? The rumour of route 194 staying at TC could mean that it gets EAs (or Volvos) and the TH routes ESs.
