But in banking you bank account still receives your salary and pays your direct debits, your card still works if you can't access internet banking. Internet banking is an add on, you don't need it to run a bank account. My mother never uses internet banking so your ideology is wrong. So not knowing whether you have to wait 1 minute or 20 in the pouring rain is a good product to try and sell to the public is it. People aren't prepared to accept that which is why they will never use a bus. If this appears on Friday, it means it will have been missing for approaching 4% of the year! I am sorry this is TfL providing a shambolic service ... If you worked there for 30 years, why is this kind of abysmal service allowed to seemingly continue to be operated without any repercussions. Is there no performance related reviews in the organisation? I now work in the private sector and standards in TfL were so much higher, it's not even funny. Of course it might have all fallen apart since I left but I doubt it. I agree that my analogy wasn't perfect but the fact remains that the core product is still being delivered and nobody died. As corporate cockups go, this is pretty small beer. iBus was supposed to be upgraded to take advantage of the improved tech installed in buses. I imagine there is not the money in budget to complete the project.

TfL fell to bits after Boris left, the Bus Driver's Son has run what's left of the system into the ground like the buses on the 318 I worked for TfL between 2005 to 2007 in IT (it was already subcontracted out to Logica and SCC and various firms who would order printers, laptops etc and they spent money like water), sadly that spending excessively has never left the organisation, either through crap branding schemes, letting buses go free during Covid (I get the idea of protecting drivers before we knew what the virus was), but they could have enabled readers on the LTs to make some revenue. It's a mess but I can't see much improving any time soon.

Whilst it looks good on paper an all electric garage I can't really see why TC can't be done now for the 194 as by 2025 the 60, 166 and 412 and potentially 466 (if it dosent get an extension) will need new buses.
