Of course speculation on my part, I wonder if the 289 could convert to DD early as such when the 157 leaves or when the W3/279s Ts become available early next year which in turn releases ENXs the 61 reg/couple of 12 reg could convert the 166 fully to ENX operation, the rest of the 12 reg batch to the B15 and was thinking the 2 MMCs could end up at GY for the 347/375. Or Ts from the 64 could be used if it converts soon. The ex-289 ENXs might also be suitable for an SL5 bid? Definitely not…

Not sure if that would be allowed, for the same reason the C3 didn’t temporarily go back to hybrid, TfL don’t want routes going back from EV operation But adding vehicles to an electric allocation would probably be okay for a route extension, but not total replacement. I’m pretty certain the B15 will definitely see its 09-reg buses replaced with them

It looks like they want to utilise all 20 ES’s destined for 64 at BN to break them in. A lot of drivers at BN are now type trained not just 417 drivers. Looks like months before they actually go on the 64. Won’t feel like new buses once they reach TH.

I can't see it getting new electrics for only a short term contract, particularly as they probably wouldn't be in service in time to introduce the route in early 2024. I don't think Abellio or Stagecoach would be able to find enough existing SDs at 10.8m, so Arriva or Go Ahead would seem more likely.

If the SL5 gets single decks there should be a push for 12m vehicles to be quite honest. Or at least vehicles of the size of DXEs.

They can draft in SB200 Pulsars some of the FL63*** batch from the Provinces
