Just in case this is read by anyone that can influence things, it would be nice if one of the long term resident 59-reg Ts could operate the last 157 journeys from Crystal Palace and Morden I hope so too, I might go out and get the last one from Morden to Palace I got bored of waiting until 1am so I went a bit earlier (late enough to see all the N routes at CP though!) and it was great. I ended up on T187’s final trip with the driver flying the whole way and getting e2e in no time. Farewell to Ts at N after a lovely 14-ish years

Those HAs might struggle on the A406!! Why would the HA's struggle on the A406? They don't really seem like powerful buses

Why would the HA's struggle on the A406? They don't really seem like powerful buses They spend a lot of their time trundling along at 20 on the 133/333 which is why you may think they’re slow. Even on the 78, most times it’s in traffic. Last time I got on a HA was on 250 and it was an absolute rocket. Flew past several 109s 333s and 159s to the point the driver made it to Norbury 11 early. Driver was clearly enjoying himself. They are speedy buses but you do get the odd ones that don’t seem healthy at all

They are speedy buses but you do get the odd ones that don’t seem healthy at all I would imagine very low speeds would no good for the DPF, a particulate filter which clogs without higher engine speeds for a regen to burn the soot out of the exhaust... A406 late at night will sort that out! I guess the W3 will soldier on as they are for now, but some won't be happy the HA's are not heading South...

Nothing happening to the W3 tomorrow. The 78 HA's would be used for the SL1 now. Over next week they would be vinyled up and get charging points I am told at the seat backs. W3 would be on the back burner until other buses are released early next year. Those HAs might struggle on the A406!! Another keyboard driver comment. Seriously, but why would they if they are very fast buses. The only thing that would prevent them struggling is if they are in limp mode.

I guess now the W3 will be getting HVs from the 242 and 34 as the W3 drivers are being type trained on them. I did kind of mentioned it about a week ago that plans may have had to be altered

Wouldn’t the it’s T be going with the 329 to WN? Some of the T's are also on the 102, but there will be plenty of T's from the W3 after Friday The 102 should be fully converted to HVs once the 329 leaves AD.

There are still the ex 133 and 333 HAs that need a new home after 133 and 333 go to their new operators perhaps the W3 will be there new home in January. Them HAs will probably be used for the SL2

Why would the HA's struggle on the A406? They don't really seem like powerful buses Before making judgments ask others point of view I would suggest. I have driven HTs which are the same as HAs and they are powerful and not to be underestimated. In addition there are plenty of routes using E40Hs on fast roads. The 405 is the most perfect example. The 428 would be another perfect example however none are at DT.

I remember the HAs when they first entered service, the first examples of ADL's new Enviro400 City bodywork to hit the streets towards the end of 2015. The Enviro400 City was aimed at the London contracts market and took its styling cues from the New Bus for London/New Routemaster. It was more expensive than the also recently-launched Enviro400 MMC and it didn't sell particularly well in London - but the surprise was when non-London operators started buying the City body style, looking for something with a bit more of a head-turning wow-factor. Those S-reg ADLs which were on that route for years were really worn out by then and they decided to stick it on the W15 for a bit. ABOMINATION!!!!

Nice when new but by the time they were transferred to [EC] for the W15 they were well and truly battered. It reminds me of the first batch of P reg ALX200 for the 230 after 5 years they were rolling wrecks, the faults they had on them was unbelievable and falling to pieces. The only thing decent was the exterior paintwork. I remember a lot of drivers did not want to drive the 230 because of the condition of them.
