Golders Green post Covid Changes + Other potential changes. 460 permanently rerouted via its Diversion Route (Clitterhouse, Staples Corner and Cricklewood Garage) in both Directions. 268 Extended towards Finchley Church End reason Golders Green has been severely packed with over flow buses due to bus stop closure due to Social Distancing or extend the either the 83 to Finchley Church End. Alternative 268 (With plans to redevelop the O2 and the car dealerships with a linking road to West End Lane) - Extend it to Kilburn Park or Paddington potentially allowing Double Deckers. The 187 could also be a contender for extension to either place. 2nd Alternative 268 Have it run as a loop style service both Anti and Clockwise, as most know buses that run on Finchley Road are always packed with no Direct secondary route. N5 Rerouted in the Hendon Area to serve roads lost by the Night Weekend 183 plus Middlesex University Students probably love a night out right? Weekend Night 182 Extended to Golders Green via 210 then N113 then 102 (Brent Cross isn’t 24/7 so why Night buses terminate there is beyond me) 189 could possibly be Extended to Colindale Station via 113 then 125. 266 Extended to North Finchley via 112 The 266 was cut back from Hammersmith to Acton due to reliability issues so a North Finchley extension would likely be unviable.

If we wanted a change that could be potentially rather interesting, I would withdraw Route 183 between Highfield Avenue & Golders Green but diverted to Brent Cross. This would bring new links into the area and I'd increase the 240 frequency.

Circular. I like both alternative 268 ideas however the Church End extension won't work due to duplication and traffic.

After a change in proposal:
Route 234: No longer running between Highgate Wood & Muswell Hill. Though maybe not feasible, would love to see it running to Potters Bar but that's not realistic
Route 446: Harringay, Superstores - Hampstead Heath.
This would run via Green Lanes, Unfreville Road, Wightman Road, Frobisher Road, Green Lanes, then Route 144 to Muswell Hill, 603 to Hampstead, the 46 to Hampstead Heath.
This would plug links that aren't possible - such as Highgate Village to Muswell Hill, Hampstead Station to Kenwood House, Muswell Hill, Highgate & East Finchley to the Royal Free & Hampstead, better links to and from Turnpike Lane & Wood Green Shopping City, better links overall to the Great Northern at Hornsey, links from Hornsey to Harringay Superstores, and Wightman Road receives a bus service. I propose to run this at a 15/20 minute service.

The Green Lanes traffic would be a problem otherwise good idea Thank you. It hardly goes up Green Lanes however Ok. Skips the terrible traffic. However wouldn’t it better if it turned into Endymion Road and then turn into Wightman Road to give the whole road a service.

Updated proposals for a restructure of routes in the Hampstead area (following comments) C11Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Kings Cross (former 45 stand at St Pancras), via existing route to West Hampstead Station, then Blackburn Road (bus gate installed), Finchley Road Station, Swiss Cottage, Adelaide Road, Primrose Hill Road, the 274 to Camden Road, then the 46 to St Pancras. Providing new links around Camden, and providing a bus service at Primrose Hill. 268/part-46 mergedGolders Green to Paddington, via the 268 to Swiss Cottage, then the 46. Optional reroute via West Heath Road if there is demand for a service here. 214/part-46 mergedHighgate Village to St Barts Hospital, via Highgate Hill West, Parliament Hill Fields, Gospel Oak Station, Mansfield Road, Malden Road, Kentish Town West Station, then the 214 to Kings Cross and the 46 to St Barts. 393Clapton Pond to Finchley Road Station (Broadhurst Gardens stand), via existing route to Prince of Wales Road, then Haverstock Hill, Englands Lane, Adelaide Road and Swiss Cottage. Creating new links towards Kentish Town and Holloway. New Route 387West Hampstead (West End Green) to Alexandra Palace Station, via West Hampstead Station, Blackburn Road, Finchley Road Station, Swiss Cottage, the 46 to Hampstead Heath, C11 to Whittington Hospital, 143 to Great North Road, Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill and the W3 to Alexandra Palace. It has often been suggested to introduce a regular route along the 603 corridor - however I'm not sure if there is demand for extra capacity along Hampstead Lane - this new route would provide similar links but instead taking over part of the current C11 in linking Hampstead and Highgate. Using SDs at about every 10-12 minutes. Could continue to Wood Green if stand space can't be found. Hi, I feel like my reply yesterday was a little harsh but these ideas some are quite good. I like the 268 and 387 ideas alot I think these would be a great edition to the area, and would be very beneficial for Hampstead Station. I hope it’s okay if i rearrange some of the ideas though: 268 and 387 to both run on Akenside Road - both are a great addition and I think useful indeed The C11 idea I think will need some changing too along with the 393, I like the idea to King’s Cross but I would propose you had it run via the 31 to Camden and then the 214 to King’s Cross. Another route alongside the 46/214 on Crowndale Road is great and a link down Swiss Cottage excluding the very circuitious 46 has been needed for some time. The 274 has been decked and doesnt need any more support in my opinion but the 31 does need support. The C11 could then also be decked. Unfortunately im going to have to disagree with the 214 idea: - The detour at Malden Road, Gospel Oak and Kentish Town West wont be ideal for the locals when it would save about 15 minutes going down Kentish Town Road and it seems you done this to replace the C11 and the 214 would serve the wrong purpose as the 88 already links to Camden. The 387 would also serve the same routing so need for the 214. - The King’s Cross-Moorgate section isnt being replaced which already is a very bad idea but I think you may have forgot to add this in your ideas rather than leave it, so Id reroute the 17 to Bart’s, and leave the 214 as it between Moorgate and Highgate. 393 idea is quite nice but would become too long so I’m going to have to disagree, and it is heavily used at Chalk Farm as of current. I would add a new bus route, lets call it 489 to run between Golders Green and Swiss Cottage via the 268, Avenue Road, then to London Zoo, then 274 to Lords, down Lords Cricket Ground, St John’s Wood Road% (unserved), Maida Vale, Warwick Avenue, Maida Hill. A route at a low frequency for any who need it, would serve some rich areas so doesnt need a high frequency, every 15-20 minutes would be enough. Would give some minor capacity the 414 will leave back and new links, a bus route along St Johns Wood Road, and replace the Belsize Village link. % = this is the exit out of Wellington Road not served by buses, and the whole length of the road, this road is also used for the 139/189 during diversions when road closures take place at Lisson Grove The Akenside Road idea could work to give a more standardised routeing between the two routes, though would break the link from Golders Green to Belsize Park and the Royal Free Hospital. I purposely left the Moorgate section of the 214 without replacement, as other routes such as the 43 and 205 cover this corridor. The 393 extension to Finchley Road might be needed to continue to C11's link to Englands Lane, plus some pf the 46's links towards Kentish Town though more directly. An idea I had, if this extension were to make the route unreliable, would be to terminate the 393 around Stoke Newington. Then extend the 318 to replace the section to Clapton - which would also create a new link between Clapton and Tottenham. I understand that the 274 may not need assistance near London Zoo, though routeing the C11 this way would allow new roads to be serves around Primrose Hill. The 31's frequency cut should simply be reversed if this is an issue. Don't quite understand your 489 idea, as this would be quite similar to my revised 268 between Golders Green and Paddington. Not sure if Avenue Road in St Johns Wood needs a bus service. The 414 is being cut as TFL deems the 6 to provide enough capacity along this section. The 187 also covers the links you mention from St Johns Wood towards Maida Hill.

Indeed it was similar to the 387 though

A very short less detailed change but wouldn’t it be better to swap the 36 and 414 ends north of Marble Arch 36 cut back to Marble Arch (could also be Paddington) 414 to Queen’s Park
Another idea which was to swap the 23/36 ends with the 23 going to Queen’s Park and 36 to Westbourne Park but the 36 may become too long

Then reroute the 6 between Edgware Road and Queens Park via the 36 - this would re-introduce a link from Paddington to the West End. The 36 would be cut back to Paddington, perhaps terminating at the Basin as has been suggested.

I would extend the 146 to Crystal Palace via the 227 and reduce the 227 frequency to every 10 minutes. The frequency of the 146 would be standardised to every hour. This would help to alleviate Bromley North of it's stand space issues.
