Hardly ridiculous in fact it's one that's been suggested on here before and there are other options than extending the 152. Being suggested here means nothing! I would be worried if some of the crazy suggestions made here got implemented. I'd be more worried about the crazy trolling on here after you asked me to ignore you, anyway you're on my block list now.

It could've always been something layered like the 82 restructured to run between Marble Arch & North Finchley, the 13 between Victoria & Golders Green & the 113 between Oxford Circus & Edgware. Something like this could have worked, keeping two shorter routes with an overlap, rather than the combined revised 13. I think I had previously suggested having one route from Golders Green to Victoria, and the other from North Finchley to Baker Street. Then maybe cut the 113 back out of central London to improve reliability. Or another option might have been something similar to the old 13 retained, possibly continuing to Waterloo, maintaining the link from the Finchley Road corridor to Oxford Circus and the West End, if needed. Then instead swap the 139 to go to Victoria in place of the 13/82. Even with the changes that went ahead, I think the renumberings could have been far less complicated, by going in line with the contract awards at the time. The 13 number might have been a better fit for the revised 139, still running between Golders Green and the West End, but simply diverted via West Hampstead, and a short extension to Waterloo. This could have continued on the existing 13 contract at the time without any number change - then retain the 82 number for the Tower Transit contract, and withdraw the 139. I agree about retaining the number 82 for the Tower Transit contract but surely it would have been simpler to retire the route number 13?

That way the Fulham and Kings road lobby can't say they are 'loosing' the 11 route.

A new bus route replacing the current 274 but changed in many aspects:
274: Notting Hill Gate to Parliament Hill Fields Notting Hill Gate Queensway Lancaster Gate Marble Arch Gloucester Road (Portman Street) BOTHWAYS * Marylebone Square = London Business School & London Central Mosque (Park Road) Eamont Street & Avenue Road London Zoo Camden Town station Kentish Town Road Lady Somerset Road Parliament Hill Fields
* - This is the section that routes 2, 30 and 74 currently serve towards Baker Street but serve bothways which is currently has no bus link in the Marble Arch direction = - This is the section that all bus routes previously served towards North West London by the junction of Melcombe Street before the two way rerouting other bus changes:
476: rerouted at Upper Street to Mornington Crescent Station via route 274 to Pratt Street and then Plender Street to Mornington Crescent Station. Bringing new links to North London from Camden and better linkages from the area. Remains a Sainsburys link from Camden Road and Islington estates. Reduces overbussing on Pentonville Road with routes 73/476.
134: rerouted at Pratt Street to Oxford Circus via Albany Street and Great Portland Street. Brings a bus route serving further North which is the common link down Great Portland Street and faster journeys.
88: rerouted between Camden Town and Oxford Circus via Mornington Crescent and Warren Street. serving more hotspots which is partly the main purpose of the 88, and supporting route 27. Withdrawn between Camden Town and Parliament Hill Fields and diverted to Chalk Farm to bring a new link from Oxford/Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus to Camden & Stables Market.
27: extended to Hampstead Heath via route 168 from Chalk Farm Road. 168: rerouted to Hampstead Heath via route 24 from Chalk Farm Road.
24: withdrawn between Chalk Farm Road and Hampstead Heath, diverted to Archway via route 134, to support route 134 and bring new links and remain the UCLH to Kentish Town link.
Reduces buses running down Baker Street, on the new 274 by now serving unused roads and can have faster journeys.
FYI: I live in the area and all the changes I suggested even the small ones (27/168 etc) could benefit for the area and passenger links, and bus timetables etc. For example, people from Queens Crescent would rather benefit a link to Euston and people from Belsize Park to Baker Street. 476 coming to Camden Town will benefit a lot of passengers north of the area, rather than the 274 going into London Zoo which is separated from another route coming west.
The 88/134/274 is to simply bring new links and improve reliability on the 88/134. Hampstead Road which is always shut means the 134 is often curtailed to Mornington Crescent, the 24 running inbetween and further south/north means that they can have a stable bus link at all times and passengers heading north from Oxo can have the 134 which goes further than PHF.

My major concern would be the stand at Hampstead Heath, it could only really support one route so one would need to stand somewhere else. Otherwise I could agree, the 88 although run well is very long and terminating at Chalk Farm would better support northern line users at night. The roundhouse events can often finish late and it’d be great to have a direct south London link to be able to have a few drinks afterwards.

Tbh I think the 414 could be finished within 2 years, there's hardly any point of it, it doesn't really have any unique links apart from Marble Arch to Fulham Broadway and Putney Bridge I don't think the 414 has ever had a great deal of purpose quite honestly. The 414 now is basically the 14 and the 6, though before the 6 got diverted it was more unique. Would be nice if the 414 is extended on the southern end, I think the bit between Knightsbridge and Marble Arch is overbussed.

Luckily for you, there are current two stands at Hampstead Heath For routes 24 and 168 The change to the 27 means it would use the current 168 stand and the 168 to move to the current 24 stand due to road layout

I disagree with you on the 274s western section, if there were any significant problems regarding capacity between Lancaster Gate & Notting Hill Gate it would be best to re-increase the 148. I don't know whether I'd agree with you on the 134, that would make the route longer than it currently is so I don't know whether it could do with an extension that long but I do rather like the idea of Oxford Circus, I certainly think it's better than Warren Street, ideally I'd have said return it to Tottenham Court Road however that's got little chance of happening. I can't see the 24 proposal happening, the 135 was removed years ago and the 134 has seen subsequent increases over the years. The 88 proposals I can agree with. Does the 27 really need support? I do like the 476 idea but Camden would be better to terminate it at or even London Zoo with the 74 extended to Camden

He'll know the area better than most of us but the one change I do think could be problematic is the 134 to Oxford Circus I agree, I'm a fan of some of the ideas especially the 476 one as travelling from North East to North West ish London seems to be a popular journey pattern on the 393 and it doesn't mean you spend time faffing around Holloway etc.
I'm a North Londoner as well, I can't say that I disagree with lots of them but I disagree with the 24/274 for the reasons I mentioned above. Plus if the 134 were struggling with capacity you could probably increase it slightly because the 43 has seen a reduction and the 29 has seen a reduction as well and you retain capacity along the busy commuter feeder Highgate to Colney Hatch corridor.

If the 74 were to be extended to Camden Town:
74 cut back to Putney Bridge 22 withdrawn between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Circus. Extended to Russell Square via route 14 C2/88 changes reversed 414 revised to operate between Marble Arch and Putney Heath (via route 14) 14 withdrawn
This would retain the link between Knightsbridge and Russell Square and also Putney Heath and Hyde Park Corner.
The withdrawal of the 14 wouldn't be too drastic in this case since there's the 22 and 414 to replace it, whilst the 74 being cut back will improve reliability if being extended, and the 430 still goes as far as South Kensington

I'm not sure if the OP meant that the 274 would be withdrawn. In theory if the 74 was extended to Camden Town with the 476 being extended as well, maybe Chalk Farm (with the 27 going to Hampstead Heath which frees up space at Chalk Farm), the 274 could be withdrawn
