When you wrote this, I assumed you meant a total order for all operators. Didn’t realise it was just one company’s order! There we go then, must be Go Ahead. It’s the only operator who would have even close to that many vehicle requirements through new contracts. Not read myself as I am at work but was pretty obvious. Could save my self the yearly sub! 🙄🙄

Save on spares by retaining more hybrids than required for the A night routes and 213/N213. Similar set up to the 65/N65.

There are definetly going to be plenty of hybrids left when the A routes are electrified Definitely, the 213 is allocated WVL/VE/E and the WVL/E are younger than the DOEs. Incidentally with the 80 likely retaining around 8-10 hybrids it would allow for an electric bid for the 213.

Would be alot of hybrid buses able to replace them especially the 14 and 74 buses if the cuts go ahead.

The 163/164 only need deckers during the peaks, outside of them and even on a weekend the loads just don’t justify full double decker workings. Even in Wimbledon during the peaks it really depends which one turns up first. They really are routes of two halves. Depending on which one turns up first, 163 for example, will be busy to Wimbledon Chase, quiet to Raynes Park where it fills up and empties out all the way to Morden. Even the 164 will do the same to Morden, fill up again and then empty out all the way to Sutton. But they are not overloaded, not by any stretch.

GAL will probably try and put in a competitive bid for the 147 using existing hybrids if any are suitable age wise. The back roads of East Ham are tight so might struggle to get electrics around those roads as I believe they are usually longer than conventional buses?

Depends on what you order - Metrodeckers are only roughly 10.5m and the new SWB ADL BYD City could be available by then which is 10.3m.

Presumably the 163D will use an existing hybrid (maybe one of the WSDs from the 44's cut)?
Again seems odd to keep 10 hybrids for the 80, similarly to keeping 3 on the 119. I wonder if this might be related to charging? As the 93/119/213/264 are 24-hour routes. Not all, but a number of existing electric routes elsewhere currently use hybrids from other routes for the night service. Having said that, Go Ahead would have had enough WHVs already at Sutton garage to give a full allocation on the 80, and the 119 also could have kept its WHVs.
While this new order mostly replaces older vehicles, there's also the EHs on the 353 and the 65reg SEs on the 163/164 now available for use elsewhere. Could see the latter kept at AL to replace SOEs on the 152. Also the 61reg SEs from the 163 could possibly move to C for the 455 - this would withdraw all remaining SOEs.
