The Actor who plays the Dad on Friday night dinner (Paul Ritter) is also fantastic in the Sky Atlantic/HBO mini series Chernobyl. The series evolves around the Disaster and what happened afterwards a really good watch one of the best things on tv last year and the awards speak for themselves. Do you recommend Chernobyl as a good watch? yes Chernobyl is great. The cinematography is outstanding put it this way no budget was saved from making this series. Even if you know all about what happened you're still want to watch until the end.

Are you talking about this one No, the comments section in this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCUF_LWZ6lA but thanks for that I think the dad is my favourite character overall, they're all excellent though, Mark Heap is probably second but Tamsin Grieg is a very convincing 'mumsy' character and the two boys morphing back into 12 year olds on a Friday is played really well too. I agree they're are all excellent but for me Jim (Mark heap) just makes the show all the more funnier. I don't know if you watched the latest series so don't want to give any spoilers away but I'll say this I doubt there's going to be another one. The actress who played Nice granda Frances Cuka sadly passed away earlier this year.

I doubt there's going to be another one. I've seen them all now and I think this is it, the combination of the news that both boys had and the dancing scene in the last episode really indicated it to me. Can't moan though, Robert Popper has provided some pure gold. OT but how's the cycling? I was out earlier on a 31 mile trip taking in CS3 and CS2 (as well as the Greenway) but some other people jumping red lights, not observing zebra crossings and trying to go too fast with a lot of people about marred it a bit, couldn't believe how busy it was along the Blackfriars to Embankment section, particularly on Blackfriars Underpass and Lower Thames Street, never imagined being amongst that many people on the pedal! I don't want to take this too off topic so just slip us a quote next time in a relevant thread post George and damage will be minimal

I think that an American TV Channel will make an american version of the show which will probably turn out really bad. Cycling is really good thanks although couldn't cycle into work last week because had really squeaky brakes which is really annoying. The nice thing about cycling in is that I've been able to see some of the new buses that have entered service like the Enviros on the 25 and E.City Golds on the P5. A 31 mile trip is really good just unfortunate that the weather wasn't so nice this weekend. As I've said before cyclists that don't stop at red lights annoy me as much as anyone else in fact two weeks ago nearly got hit by a courier down Fleet Street.

Bringing this thread up again.
Very hard hitting drama on BBC 1 tonight called Anthony who was simply killed because of the colour of his skin. It was done brilliantly and probably will be up for a few awards.

Recently, I began to add a few more CD's to my physical collection and I've noticed the prices from sellers on Discogs, eBay & Amazon really have shot up on some stuff coupled with certain albums becoming quite scarce - recently added Calling all Stations by Genesis, Crash by The Human League & Both Sides Deluxe Edition by Phil Collins (my music taste varies)

Two very different TV show recommendations.
1. All or Nothing Tottenham Hotspur. The cameras go behind the scenes during what happens to a be a difficult season at the club. This is much more than just football so even if you're not a fan of the game I would recommended this. Amazon Prime.
2. DES. Three part drama serious based on the arrest of Serial Killer Dennis Nielson. David tennant is DES and his portrayal is Incredible but also Daniels mays playing the lead detective is fantastic. Great Acting all round. Was ITV now on the ITV Hub.

I know no one asked but going to list some of my favourite movies. This will not help with the situation but it might just help you forget about what's worrying you at the moment. We can't do what we all like right now so I think listing some a few films might be a good idea and of course feel free to write down your favourites.
The Green Mile One flew of the cuckoo's nest There will be blood. Forest Gump Mrs Doubtfire Spirited Away The Shawshank Redemption Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri Fargo.
Have a good weekend 🙂

My own all time fave is the brilliant Terminator 2 - I'm a big Arnie fan and I pretty much love all his well known and successful films.

Not quite sure how I manage to leave the Terminator movies off this list 😁. Both 1 and 2 are excellent in their own right not sure I could choose between them if I'm honest. Terminator 2 obviously has the advantage with it having a much bigger budget.

Sorry to bump this (especially quoting the opening post too) but cannot agree enough with this - I can't believe the show started in 2011 and I've only just heard of it now. During the lockdown time a secondhand Chromecast from my brother-in-law and the All4 app have been an absolute godsend. While working my way through Peep Show (some moments of which were a bit uncomfortable for me and I think series 9 might have been better done differently) I came across the trailers for FND and decided to give it a go. Brilliant stuff, worth watching alone for the Mark Heap character who lives next door (as well as the dads catchphrase when things go wrong!). A mate pointed me in the direction of Toast of London, but I think this one needs a few views as it strikes me as the sort of comedy where you have to look for the half-hidden 'obtuse' type references. In recognition of FND, I'm updating my sig The Actor who plays the Dad on Friday night dinner (Paul Ritter) is also fantastic in the Sky Atlantic/HBO mini series Chernobyl. The series evolves around the Disaster and what happened afterwards a really good watch one of the best things on tv last year and the awards speak for themselves. It was awful to read about the death of Paul Ritter yesterday. He was amazing in Friday Night dinner but he was incredible in Chernobyl. "Not Great Not Terrible" "Sh*t on it" "Hello bambinos" R.I.P Paul.

I'd be interested to hear of any good transport podcasts. It feels like this is an topic that is a bit underrepresented. Not sure if this is what you mean, but Leon Daniels runs a podcast called Lunch With Leon, where he talks to various people in the industry such as Emma Hignett & Jo Bamford www.leondaniels.co.uk/podcastUnrelated, however recently started watching Law & Order : UK & Line Of Duty. Geez, wasn't expecting DCI Gates to be killed off so quickly My favourite character so far
