Would things like Good train’s and would Steam locomotives able to run though the tunnel? The tunnel will be fairly deep level. Have a think about whether steam in a deep level tunnel is a good idea.

Would things like Good train’s and would Steam locomotives able to run though the tunnel? Steam trains, definitely not. Freight trains also not, although engineering trains will need access from time to time. There are other ways of getting trains across London.

Would things like Good train’s and would Steam locomotives able to run though the tunnel? I guess there would be nothing physically stopping a steam train going through there. But they are unlikely to allow this, would probably set off smoke alarms. The advantage of steam trains is they do not have electronic software.

Would things like Good train’s and would Steam locomotives able to run though the tunnel? In theory a freight train could run although would have to be electric-hauled only although with the frequency expected over the central section, there won’t be any paths for one. If overnight, might as well run over the North London line when there’s no service there anyway

Great to see the end is now coming and it is going to open.
I wonder if my journey from Bexleyheath to Baker Street will be improved by Crossrail, obviously I have to use the 301 and Jubilee Line. Or continue using SouthEastern & Jubilee or Bakerloo Line?

Or continue using SouthEastern & Jubilee or Bakerloo Line? Faster and cheaper by Lizzie Line: 301 to Abbey Wood Lizzie Line to Bond Street - 25 mins Jubilee Line - one stop plus transfer time. No more SouthEastern fares either :-)

It will be cheaper as I hold a TFL staff pass, but lucky enough to get National Rail at Priv Rate, so Southeastern isn’t that expensive - I am that old. At my age I am after convenience than cost.
Going by Crossrail will be a 3 seat ride, opposed to 2 on Southeastern, but the Crossrail section in the middle, is where I can have a good sit down. I wonder what the change will be like at Bond Street, if it will be a long walk like Green Park is? Another option for me is to change at Farringdon if it is easier interchange or to cycle on the Boris Bike from Bond Street?
A lot of the reasons why I have been down on Crossrail opening late is for no other reason I have been so looking forward for years to ride it, so when December 2018 had been and gone, it was such a big disappointment. I have felt the disappointment like when I have been to the theatre at the Barbican or Tottenham Court Road and felt how easier it would be to get home, it the line had opened. Also feel it when I go to Heathrow it will be so much easier by Crossrail.
If the March date is true it will be great.

Indeed, it really has been a long time coming. Although I suspect full service won't commence until December at the earliest as a timetable rewrite would be required on the GWML to extend the Reading/Heathrow to Paddington services through to Shenfield and Abbey Wood as they clash with GWR's slow Didcot to Paddington services. On the GEML however I think TfL Rail services are the only trains using the slow lines so that wouldn't be an issue.

I got an email from TFL asking for volunteers, it is as follows;
• Sunday 13 February: Open Route Evacuation of Train • Saturday 19 February: Train Evacuation in Tunnel to Station • Saturday 26 February: Train Evacuation via Emergency Shaft • Saturday 5 March: Train Evacuation in Tunnel to Station • Sunday 13 March: Mass Volume Timetable Test
So assuming this does open on the 08th March, can they do the last piece of testing Mass Volume Timetable Test with the service open? or must TFL complete all 5 stages before opening?
