I would hate waiting for that route for the few stops after Stratford, drivers pretty much never lets anyone on. It's really overdue a PVR increase. Absolutely. And to think some of those Bus YouTubers calling it useless, you'd be laughing! In fact, I'll link the video and you can see the comment yourself. Look at the 3•rd comment down youtu.be/fewkRpAQnYoRidiculous. Very naive and disingenuous to think that 238 is a useless route, like I said I regularly use it and it’s anything but useless. Must be because their assumption is short route = useless route.

You find this on a lot of W7 route visuals as well, people saying how "oh the 236 should be extended to Muswell Hill in place of it" or "oh how the W7 should be extended to Friern Barnet instead of the 43" Not many people on the bus youtube community understand how routes being short is one of the best things so that you know it will be reliable. No doubt people will start saying this about the 45

I just wanted to rant here and hopefully some of you of school age will relate here, but the stupid thing here is that: school year groups starting at different times in the morning is such a good move as it stops overcrowding in all situations (pavements, transport, the actual school and any bad thing). the stupid thing is that most schools then finish at the same time with all year groups and this means you’ll have loads of schools piling up like crazy nothing compared to the mornings and I’ve realised there IS A lot more buses running in the morning rather than the evening which is stupid.
An example is the 113, which was carrying standing loads even to the top deck between Frognal and Baker Street as their are numerous schools on this section with public schools and private schools especially in S’t John’s Wood and the 113 was piling up like crazy, I had to get off because it was very unsafe and claustrophobic. I know this route is getting extras aswell so I don’t even know what to say but this is not appropriate social distancing at all.
Boundary Road stop on the 113 fills up more than half the pavement..
Anyone else seeing this issue? I assume Stratford Bus Station must be hell crazy aswell

It's why when people from their own locals share similar things, you can learn so much from them and why their knowledge should always be listened to.

These people haven't seen Stratford bus station in the peaks You find this on a lot of W7 route visuals as well, people saying how "oh the 236 should be extended to Muswell Hill in place of it" or "oh how the W7 should be extended to Friern Barnet instead of the 43" Not many people on the bus youtube community understand how routes being short is one of the best things so that you know it will be reliable. The issue with the 45 is its obviously short nature which makes people think it's an easy target. I think it should be seen more as a route to extend somewhere rather than a route that should be withdrawn.

I think it's more to do with the fact that it's almost entirely duplicated by the 35 and most suggested extensions just seem to be solutions looking for problems.

No doubt people will start saying this about the 45 I do feel as though the 45 was hard done by making it a Clapham Park to Elephant route. It's literally now a support route from Brixton Hill and then supporting the 35 from Brixton to Elephant. Do you think that it should be extended, if yes where should it be extended to?

Must be because their assumption is short route = useless route. The 238 may be short but it's very popular amongst the Barking folk to get to Stratford and in East Ham. Even though the 104 goes to Stratford from East Ham no one wants to get that bus because of how it goes the long way round. I still remember the days West Ham used to be at Upton Park and boy did the 238, 104, 330 and 58 suffer at Green street.

They are desperate to know of all school service movements to better co-ordinate services.

No doubt people will start saying this about the 45 ATM the youtube and roblox community are a bunch of immature kids and teens who just record videos and know next to nothing apart from 'the shorter it is the more useless it is'. If people in those communities find this website I imagine lot of silly ideas popping up in the threads here and the amount of drama in those communities is even worse

From my friends' observations: 316 and 140/X140. Packed to the windshield.
Round my ends 201 and P13 are starting to crumble, well duh keep running them at every 15mins! 🤷♀️
Oh and a 36 and 185 that I've boarded recently had lot of people on who had to turn back and go downstairs.
And here's one I really shouldn't have forgotten: 117. Struggling since the beginning and TfL doing exactly sod all about it. Every 20mins for a hospital route, so low just because it whisks outside of London at the other end.....

Go Ahead (for different reasons mind you) had done rare odd decker workings on the 170 between Roehampton and Clapham Junction. As you already highlighted, a general frequency increase would certainly help.

My local route 109 is struggling to adhere to social distancing measures. To be fair, the drivers on the routes are trying their best to stick the guidelines but even with a 6 minute frequency, the route still see massive loads of passengers. Yesterday I went on the route off peak and it was packed.
