Her bigoted views and generally racist persona are precisely why she should not be let anywhere near the London mayoralty. How can someone like her fairly represent a city where 40% of the population is BAME? As I have said someone who has her ethic of not caring what anyone thinks - I do not necessarily want her views in a mayor but I want someone not like Khan whining about what Trump said about him - which tbf wasn't even that harsh I don't know (or possibly cannot remember) what Trump said about Sadiq Khan - but I would not be surprised if it was offensive, or contained elements of racism and/or Islamophobia in which case Khan would be quite right to call it out.

Exactly this, Trump threatened to ban Muslims from entering the US and Khan was rightly offended. Trump went on to call Khan a "stone cold loser" and said he has done a poor job as mayor. Anti-trump protestors had been given permission to fly a Baby Donald Trump balloon during his state visit to the UK - www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_baby_balloon

I agree with your last sentence and whilst it's nice he isn't a fan of BLM and that his comment about women getting pregnant to claim a flat is absolutely bang on because I know people on my own estate who've done that, equally, I'm not compelled to elect someone who has awful views regarding Muslims & Hindus, especially when describing their festivals as turning Britain into a "crime-riddled cesspool. For me, he is not worth my time unless he decided to change his view on that point in which case, I can at least consider him. I agree his comments are not nice but I think having someone like Katie Hopkins (maybe not with her bigoted views and generally racist persona) she'd be excellent for the job considering she doesn't care about her every words being judged and is willing to stand up for herself and country. I'd rather vote Khan in then if that's the choice I was left with! Katie Hopkins is one of those people who crave attention and say anything to make themselves heard no matter how absurd or dangerous it is that she says. Take kids names - she said she didn't like children with lower class names yet named her own child after a country.

The weather was awful this morning as a result buses on the 262 and 473 were well over the current capacity limit. All windows closed and steamed up!!!
This winter is going to be interesting especially as most will have probably put the bikes away until the spring!

As I mentioned in wirewiper s post I want someone who doesn't care about being judged not someone who always worries about getting judged and to fit in

I reckon that with a more sensible mayor we should start to see better planning No disrespect to who is left wing but some of these proposals like cycle lanes and ratruns scream leftie to me, I don't know why but I think after Sadiqs run I've started to turn more to the right (maybe it's just a coming of age thing) I wouldn't even call Khan far left; I think he is just simply confused.

Well you'll be waiting at least another term because the incumbent (Khan) and the challenger (Bailey) are both equally useless in many different aspects. Bailey in particular has views beyond transport that make me shudder. I really feel the mayoral election will come down to a better the devil you know style situation. Personally I like Bailey, I’ve met him several times and whilst some of his views like the drug testing in offices is odd I would welcome changes in city hall. Sadiq Kahn hasn’t really done much to improve life in London and yes some will blame cuts from central government but ultimately he had failed to make London safe, keep transport abundant and keep London the envy of Europe. Now maybe if he spent more time on London and less time on delivering interview after interview about the problems with central government he could have made improvements that this city so desperately needs. London needs change, it needs a mayor who is focused on the issues London, like stabbings every week, rather than tearing down road names or removing statues. London the envy of Europe? looooooooooooooooooool Khans biggest problem seems that he is doing everything for image instead of doing it for function or to improve peoples lives. I would NEVER vote for him again, his initial walk away with his tail between his legs attitude to the bloodbath on the streets a few years ago was the tipping point.

When do COVID extras finish Should be a review at the end of the month, where it will be decided

When do COVID extras finish Should be a review at the end of the month, where it will be decided The funding for extra school journeys (which is nationwide and not exclusive to London) was mandated by the UK Government and originally intended to be in place until 17th October. Seeing as keeping children in schools appears to be regarded as a priority for the Government I expect it to be extended until at least the end of this school term.
