I make no apology for my all time favourite bus being an RM, but my more esoteric choice would be the Alexander bodied Scanias Kentish Bus ran on the 51. Comfortable and powerful, and in a great livery too. I am also very fond of the first batch of DTs out of Bromley. A stylish little bus that has dated very well judging by my trip on one a year or two back. Only the lack of a low floor stopped it passing for new. I rode one of the preserved Roundabout ones a few years back, really nice it was. Growing up in Brixton, even then, it was predominately double deck territory so aside from the odd step Dart ride, I didn't really ride any single deckers growing up which was a shame TBH.

SILENCED one for you as well as the rest of us South Londoners - www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVUnMSymSaw a Cummins M on the 130. Great thing about this video is you'll see Tramlink under construction and a few routes that no longer exist such as the X30 and brief shots of the 353 & 354 in Croydon

With the 64 being with Metrobus at the time with the yellow and blue bus in Croydon. I still remembered how East Croydon looked like even before Tramlink was being constructed. Going off topic it was a shame that the 54 paid a heavy price for Tramlink.

Amazing that the first half of the video is totally within New Addington ... Tramlink construction certainly brought back memories. The Metrobus commercial network that was centred on Forestdale was a roaring success ... such a shame TfL took it over and ruined it over the next decade or so.

I just realised. My favourite PVL bus from Go ahead is PVL247 (Y747TGH). My goodness that bus used to fly on the roads when it was on the NX bus routes.
I especially loved it when it was on the 171 and 36. I was so upset when it left London in 2011 when the 171 got it's new WVLs.
Tracking some buses those times were harder than it is today because you had to pray some buses were on your favourite routes which made it like a game of Russian Roulette.
Ahhh good times good times.

You had to have good ears to remember what your favourite bus sounded like or remembered the reg plate of the bus. Some days it could come out for half a day and then its gone and you don't see it for ages.

2 batches for me that I love
1) The 14 East Lancs Scania Omnitowns that were allocated to the 42
2) The Y/51/02/52 Reg DAF Presidents that used to be with Arriva London

One thing I've found interesting as a kid growing up was the Northern Counties Palatine buses.
Why was it that on the Palatine 1 buses upstairs the "STOPPING" sign was on the left hand side whereas the Palatine 2 version it was at the middle?
But to be fair the 341 S-LLO olympians had it's stopping sign at the middle with it's Red LED display and had it's curved lights despite being a Palatine 1 bus. The dennis arrows on the 76 and 259 and some arrows that were added to the 369 also had this which I thought was cool

I think that may have been the president but let me see if I can upload the interiors.
