Hey folks. I have a question to ask. Do you think in the future centre staircases will make a return to London Buses? What are your thoughts and why? I personally think it could happen again. From when the roundels made a comeback in 2011 anything is possible. No, I think that will firmly stay in the past - the big issue with centre staircases is the seating layout - most of the seats would end up in the section at the rear which isn’t always fully accessible leaving less accessible seats overall. On top of that, downstairs was quite a dingy affair even with the vehicles that had a rear window though that could be mitigated somewhat with windows along the staircase

I do think some stuff does come in cycles. Though I don't think they'll do it exactly as it was many years back but I do have this feeling they may possibly take the staircase backwards but one window length back but not two as previously seen bit we'll see. The roundels I did like it when it made it's return back in 2011 paying homage to the London Transport days.

I like the capacitor hybrids on the london buses over the previous hybrids. What other buses in London has them? The ones I know off the top of my head are the ones on the 36, 77, partially on the 88, the 264 (temporarily), the 405, 202, 208, 197 and 20

Only ADL hybrids I like were the original ones when hybrids first popped up (the original 5 EH’s, 5 TEH’s & 2 ADH’s) and Euro VI hybrids from 14 reg to 15 reg which make the whoosh noise

The Dennis Trident euro 3 zf engine bus has to be up there after the Dennis Arrow and Lance. Bodywork wise I personally preferred the Plaxton Presidents over the Alexander 400s.
The only Alexander 400s I liked with that engine was the ones that used to be on the 266 as it somewhat had the features that you would usually see on the Plaxton Presidents. The stopping sign at the front by the entrance doors and right at the back on the rear.
Another bodywork that I feel that doesn't get spoken about as much was the East Lancs Loylne buses, my fondest memories of those buses were on the 86 when Stagecoach went through it's iBus phase between 08-09 and when I would see them on the 248 (though the Romford folks wanted to vandalise those buses) and seeing them occasionally on the 474 around Beckton and Canning Town during it's go ahead days
I know London united had some on the 57 and 281 as well. (Dennis tridents of course)

When watching some videos on YouTube if there's one bus I wished I had gotten on it's X201UMS. (The west Londoners on here will know why I gave that specific bus an honourable mention)

Strictly speaking not an S-reg, despite wearing an S plate! It was never officially registered with that number - you can see the trade plates in the windscreen - and was eventually registered in the V-reg period.
I seem to remember some of the Capital Logistics DB250s were also allocated S regs but all ended up being T-reg.

The VNLs / VNWs / VNZs on the 79, 83, 92 and 258. I loved the roar of the Volvo and their rear door closing noises.
