Wow that’s a shocking cut. Sunday services are gone. Only 3 services per day doing the full route from West Kingsdown to Dartford, and only 2 per day going back the full route. The last one of the day leaving Dartford at 12.30pm! This leaves Swanley with only two regular bus services (233 & 477). It’s going to leave Farningham & West Kingsdown residents without cars very isolated. The B12 is officially a lifeline to Joydens Wood. Then people say we can't cut this or that in London. They don't know what an overprivileged position they live in. Lol, how wrong you are

From 12th April Go Coaches is introducing a new timetable on bus route 429, however a lot of the services are being discontinued, Joyden Wood is going to loose most of their bus service. Very unlikely to ever happen, but diverting the 428 at Crayford via Bourne Road, Bexley Village, Bexley Park and route 429 to Dartford would improve matters. The direct Crayford - Dartford link would still be maintained by the frequent 96. Extending the 233 to West Kingsdown would also improve things but that’s even less likely to happen!

I like your 428 idea, maybe cut the Dartford to Bluewater section though so it’s not too long and have it terminate at Dartford Station. With the new 428 routing, the B12 doesn’t really need to serve Bexley Park as well, so the loop could be cut. Instead I’d have the B12 extended from Joydens Wood to Swanley Station. 428 Erith, Town Centre Slade Green Station Barnes Cray Crayford, Town Centre Bexley, Library Bexley Park Leyton Cross Wilmington, The Orange Tree Dartford Station B12 Erith, Town Centre Northumberland Heath Bexleyheath North Bexleyheath Station Bexleyheath, Town Centre Bexley, Library Joydens Wood Estate Swanley, Birchwood Corner Swanley, Asda Swanley Station

That service through Wilmington would enrage some forum members 😂 Does the stretch of Birchwood Road with the plush houses see much bus usage?

I’ve never seen anyone get on or off of the 429 (or Arriva’s 476 before that) between the White Oak Estate in Swanley and Joydens Wood Estate. They all have about 4 posh cars in their fenced off drive ways down that part of Birchwood Road. The Birchwood Golf Course is very popular though, as is the bar/restaurant and gym inside it. I’m sure if a decently frequent TFL bus route served it rather than just the once in a blue moon Go Coach 429, it would be handy for people in Bexley, Joydens Wood and Swanley.

A great idea extending the B12 to Swanley, bit like the original 421 route.
The cuts to the 429 are brutal and especially as this bus served the back roads of Swanley, not sure if this is being replaced by Go2 service? I would have thought the local/county council would subsidise services. West Kingstown is a small town, with no bus service.

It looks like the Go2 service is going to be available in Swanley, Farningham and West Kingsdown only on Sundays. It’s ridiculous.

So Sunday you get a kind of service, albeit of an unknown quality, because no ones knows the times it runs. But Monday to Saturday when people want a bus, the service is very poor.
I agree it is ridiculous.

B12 as it runs now to Joyden Wood then down to Swanley, picking up the back roads of the 429 as you suggest. A frequency reduction of every 30 minutes. New Route B17 would run as the B12 to Joyden Wood then run up to Wilmington and Dartford. Every 30 minutes. Combined service would give a 15 minutes service between Erith and and Joyden Wood.

I'm surprised that the on demand service wasn't extended to at least the weekdays once the cut was announced - not surprised that it got cut due to what's been going on across the UK for years now in regards to bus services.
