I thought I would create a thread for the upcoming elections. Also who would you vote for. Voting ends 10pm on 6th May 2021

I thought I would create a thread for the upcoming elections. Also who would you vote for. Voting ends 10pm on 6th May 2021 I don't have a vote as I no longer reside in Greater London, but that doesn't stop me expressing support for Sadiq Khan nor predicting his win with a reduced but still decisive majority. Brian Rose might be one to watch. Not because he stands any chance of winning (he doesn't), but although nominally an Independent he is cherry-picking policies which place him firmly on Conservative territory, and might win some votes from Conservative supporters disillusioned or fed up with the hapless Shaun Bailey.

Honestly, Sheffield United's starting 11 looks better than this list of candidates - like the election, more poor candidates to vote for so naturally I'm undecided.

To be quite frank, I will be more interested to see the outcome of the London Assembly elections. When eligible I usually voted Labour for my constituency AM, and Green from the London-wide lists. Because the London Assembly uses a form of Proportional Representation its make-up is far more representative of the actual votes cast, and for me it was important that there was at least one Green voice on the Assembly.

Despite I detest the Green Party more than the Tories, they've got a very loyal following in the Dulwich area which seems to be growing slowly. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a few more seats this time around compared to last time.

I'm not surprised that the Greens would do well there given the type of people who live in Dulwich - they're really an anomaly sandwiched in & between majority Labour areas with have a vastly different make up of people.

For me Sadiq Khan is not our guy to lead London, Poor leadership, doesn't invest time with the community instead of sitting quiet in the office, Cutted £500 million to emergency services when he had a well high budget, not at least trying to find solutions for the youth to create better life for them when they are at a breaking point under the current mayor which is worse then when Boris was mayor, only delivered 12,000 affordable homes compare to 500,000 he promised 5 years ago with 100,000 per year, did not consult for Low Traffic Neighborhoods which is crippling some areas including businesses and emergency services for accessibility, lacking innovation for our transport system such as not addressing areas that need sorting out such as crowd relief or lack of orbital links aswell running TFL mismanagement to making poor financial decisions which led to many cycle schemes to be delayed and Crossrail was on time under Boris and was delayed under Khan possibly of his mismanagement. We need a Mayor who loves this city, someone who is sociable, visits the community regularly, fights for this city when during crises that our mayor lacks and someone who is trustworthy. For me Brian is probably our only hope for a new direction with a quality leadership he already has. We could have a new direction or do you want 4 more years of the same thing. Khan has plenty of faults but your makes out as if Boris was excellent as mayor, some of those faults under Khan started under Boris. I had a look at this Brian bloke's transport policy on his website - very underwhelming and in parts, dangerous to the bus network in particular. Speaking of which, not one mention of buses but multiple mentions of cars. Thank goodness he has no chance.
