I would have thought Labour were looking to replace Sadiq as he might cost them a lot of votes due to his unpopularity (ULEZ etc.) but it seems there's no credible alternative at the momemt I doubt Susan Hall will sweep to power any time soon.

Indeed, the election of a Reform candidate is even less likely in London than in most other areas with a Mayor.  In the European elections in 2019 London was the only area in England not to elect mainly Brexit party MEPs.

A Tory Mayor whose forthcoming defeat disappoints me is Andy Street in the West Midlands.

I think Sadiq will be a mayor for London for another 4 years. I don’t think that Susan is the best candidate to be mayor. Sadiq is better than nothing in my opinion.

Judging by the polls and predictions you'll be waiting a while. 

Khan needs to just manage to win, with the voting now first past the post all he needs to do is accumulate the most votes which he probably would quite easily do with a city like London which leans to the left. The best chance of him being defeated would be another candidate on the left of the spectrum that has a big enough platform to challenge him on. It's similar to how Ken won the mayoralty in 2000 as he was already very well known due to his history leading the GLC.

As much as I question Sadiq Khan's regime you people that have so much disdain for him are doing the most. Some of you are so extreme with the dislike for him that you're so blinded at the fact that he wasn't FULLY responsible for how some stuff has turned out today. While he IS the mayor at the moment, some policies I can't hold him responsible for. So this notion that he has to be blamed for some policies that was there even before his time is a really dumb take.

And you people that are hoping and praying he goes this term and Susan Hall comes in to take over I am seriously going laugh at EVERY single person that really thought she would win. Until a credible candidate (from whichever direction) comes in then Khan may be on his seat for a while.

But let wait until election day to continue. Watch this space............

Anyone but Khan. None of them can do a worse job than Khan. Why Labour went with a candidate with such a low personal rating I will never know. I want an action Mayor, not a soundbyte Mayor. Ask yourself is London in a better or worse place since he has been Mayor?
