City going out was the only thing that has gone right - excellent news they went out. Screw the 5th place coefficient nonsense that shouldn't even be a rule and screw the cheating scum from Manchester. No comment on the rest - you already know my opinion on the matter. I'm sorry I had to come back to this. That Bernardo Silva penalty had me laughing all day. What kind of penalty take was that. I've seen Sunday League players take better penalties than that. He should never take penalties again. However, if keeper dives, it's amazing. To me it is a good guess from keeper. He said after game that it was a tactic to stay in the middle for one penalty and he was happy it was the correct one to do so. Bad penalties are ones that don't hit the target or are miss-kicked and don't generate the intended power and gives chance to GK to adjust and save. Another typical commentator/pundits line that annoys me is to call a defender who loses the ball while passing it at the back 'bad defending'. It can't be bad defending when they have possession. Bar for Martinez, PL teams nearly got sweept this week. Arsenal are way too tired in 2nd halves lately. When was the last 2nd half they dominated and created lots? Pre-international break?? Odegaard overpresses in first half and Saka is kicked about 5 times and loses energy by the second 45(really 100 mins games too).

That Bernado Silva penalty has to be the worst I've ever seen at that level, the keeper was never going to fall for that.

In most cases that's true but in his case he literally shot it right at the keeper.

Disgraceful officiating over this weekend, the inconsistencies between Grealishs handball not being given against him yesterday and Wan Bissakas being given against him today show the sorry state of VAR.
Nottingham Forest vs Everton was disgraceful from both Stuart Atwell and Anthony Taylor, I'm glad the club has made a public statement regarding this (as seen below) and hope more clubs follow suit. Reports saying that Nottingham are considering suing PGMOL (note that Mark Clattenburg is their referee consultant)

The first and the third one looked clear penalties to me, possibly an element of doubt about the Ashley Young handball but you've certainly seen them given.

That handball was as clear as most given as you mention. Typical for Neville and Carragher to get on their high horses and tell Forest how to handle themselves. Forest are stating that they flagged to PGMOL that the VAR was a Luton fan BEFORE the game and that happens? PGMOL are the ones that need to explain themselves. Forest have Clattenburg to provide that sort of information and flag these things. With all due respect to the referees, they are human beings but in any other line of work, such mistakes will leave you out of a job.

Nice to see him vindicated now. They seem to operate like a mafia in the sense that if anyone speaks out against them then they'll come heavy on them. They tried it with Klopp, Arteta and O'Neil this season

To be fair I know Clattenburg has had a fallout with some of the big guys in PGMOL in the past. I know him and Martin Atkinson cannot stand each other, that's partially why you'd never see each other be the fourth referee when either of the two was officiating the match. Howard Webb was another one Clattenburg had a fallout with as well and some others.

I was probably being generous saying there was an element of doubt about the handball, whilst I don't like to see penalties given for that under the current interpretation it would be given more often than not. I'm not sure about this VAR being a Luton fan argument, a draw would have probably been the best outcome for Luton, but the PGMOL could have changed it to remove any element of doubt. Bizarre coincidence that all three incidents involved Ashley Young.

I support VAR as in the technology which clearly works but it’s the humans who seriously need to not only step up but should be accountable to explain the decisions through wearing microphones during the match or explaining decisions after matches to the public. Someone is clearly trying to keep Everton alive - dodgy decisions against Forest and reducing their points deductions on appeal despite Everton ignoring advice from the Premier League about their finances and being clearly in the wrong

Just shows how much we rely on Silva and Gusto in defense... Badiashile might have had a 90& completion rate on passes to Arsenal players. One of the worst passing (or best) I have seen from a centre back. Sometimes they ask whether a team was very good or the opponent was very bad. Chelsea were very bad. Arsenal cannot expect the same at Tottenham. I was just thinking that if Arsenal win, then Tottenham are less likely to have something to play for when they play Man City and would not help Arsenal win the title. If Tottenham win, then Arsenal are less likely to win the title anyway. Hmmm... I can see why those analytics have Man City at 70%. Looks like Brighton on Thursday are the only hope. There is hope if PGMOL decide to rebalance the favour and give Forest penalties for absolute nothing against City on Sunday.

They still have Wolves and Fulham to deal with and those teams can be unpredictable. More so Wolves who have been done dirty this season with the amount of decisions that has gone against them
