As mentioned, when heading to Edgware I dont think the cycle lane is a big factor - it was just as bad before when it was 'normal width'. I dont think the service has been as good since the North Finchley shorts were stopped. Its got better but those first few weeks without the shorts to ease loadings..... Yes, nice and quiet now in the mornings (I will most likely go back to my bike when the kids go back as sitting for 20-30 minutes on Bounds Green Road is no fun) - usual delays due to light jumpers/blockers at Bounds Green on my way home via 221 - the junction really needs to be a yellow box to keep it clear. Agree with the bollards by the garage - bit more busy tonight as Ensigns are there operating the THFC Shuttle as well Could a solution to the 221 shorts have been an extended 67 up to North Finchley/Friern Barnet? Dalston Junction - North Finchley definitely sounds workable. Probably not, IMO. There was a need for an increased service at the Edgware end so it made sense to send 8bph through, and I think a combined 14+bph to North Finchley would be overkill. I haven't used the 221 in donkeys so not sure how the reduced service is going down at the Wood Green end (I did have concerns) but I use Bounds Green Road regularly by car and the increase in traffic vs pre-lockdown no.1 has been noticeable. Agree with comments that the cycle lanes in themselves aren't a huge issue, but moving a few poorly placed wands would make life easier for a lot of people. The safety element of that cycle lane is lost at the junctions anyway, and 25+ years cycling in central and suburban London has taught me that so many of them fail at that point. Haringey's next run of LTN proposals for Bounds Green will close off all of the side cut-throughs between the High Road and BGR, as well as between BGR and Durnsford Road, though they seem to have rowed back from their proposal for a bus gate on Brownlow Road - this would have nixed the issue of drivers cutting a corner off the nasty bit of the A406 via Colney Hatch Lane and Alexandra Park Road, but at too high a price to a lot of other much more local traffic, even in the eyes of moderates.

You know all of these LTNs are why I dread driving my car in London now. Driving from Upper Holloway to Hackney Downs used to take 15-17 mins without Traffic and about 5 mins longer with traffic. Now because of all the LTNs and not being able to cut through Highbury Barn via the Arsenal stadium one has to go through Blackstock Road and the whole journey now takes approx 25 minutes (this is without traffic. Witht traffic it has actually taken me 40-45 mins!

I think I remembered talking about this with M1104 and vjaska about how shambolic the road is like over there around this time last year. Even to the point they literally forced people onto the main road closing off some of the side roads. God forbid if an ambulance tried to get through those roads with an emergency in the van they wouldn't be able to pass through.

I use Marlborough Road, Cornwallis Road, Tollington Way, Tollington Park, Stroud Green Road, Blackstock Road, Riverdale Road, Highbury Quadrant, Highbury New Park, Beresford Terrace, Beresford Road, Newington Green Road, Mildmay Road, Crossway, Shacklewell Lane, St Marks Rise, Downs Park Road. Previously was Marlborough Road, Cornwallis Road, Bavaria Road, Hornsey Road, Benwell Road*, Drayton Park, Martineau Road*, Highbury Hill*, Highbury Grove, Highbury New Park, Beresford Terrace then the rest the same. *LTN

Dalston Junction - North Finchley definitely sounds workable. It did not need the 67 to be extended to cover it. Many of the North Finchley shorts were always running late or next to the Edware buses. The stand time at North Finchley meant any delay in Bounds Green or Friern Barnet/New Southgate meant they were chopped on the way down to Turnpike at Wood Green.

The amount of cyclists going through red lights is horrendous today, particularly around Tottenham Court Road and Holborn. I think they probably think getting to their destination quickly outweighs the risk of being run over

Maybe the only solution to it was if they were to get their bicycle confiscated and crush as well with a fine.

I've seen police speak to people for cycling on the pavement, particularly around Oxford Street, but it's only a caution, so not really a deterrant.

I wish there were police around when some of these idiots suddenly pull out Infront of the bus, people run across the road Infront of the bus etc. So many near misses on the 326 today (again). These people do it on purpose e.g There will be space between two cars and less space between the bus and a car and they rather pull out or run across Infront of the bus yet they had a huge space to do it between the two cars.

Or when they do their 'operations' which are a joke, once in 6 months if you are lucky. Also when this is done they are highly visible. Compared to using undercover cars etc when it comes to automobiles.

Elsewhere there's far less police around walking in the streets, so there's far less observations for the police to make. Having said that there are definitely less people on the pavement in outer London. I think the police have more serious crimes to deal with hence they rarely bother with this.

Posted about this before but have noticed just how bad jumping of red light is getting this week! I have even had a few incidents of starting to cross roads on a green man and cars have jumped red lights.
I am sure its a London wide thing but the stand of driving has dropped off a cliff lately in east London.

Everywhere in London mate. But east London is the worst one. The A13 being the worst of the worst
