Has anyone notice the standard of driving has really dropped recently? I know the A13 is mentioned a lot on the forum but I'm talking in general.
I have been off work this week so driving a bit more than usual and it seems a red signal no longer means stop instead 2- 3 maybe even 4 more cars keep going. I even had a lorry jump a light at Beckton and take a tight turn towards me meaning I had to stop on a green signal. Things seem to have got worse after the first lockdown when people treated the roads like a personal go kart track.
It's not just traffic lights its things like not using the correct lane on roundabouts and cutting in on dual carriage ways without signalling.
Here is a little clip of a recent incident on the A13

All I can say is flipping heck. The A13 is NOT for the faint hearted at all. Judging by that clip it looks like it's near the Canning Town Flyover and not too far from Freemason Road.

Yep that's the location! Ironically I do remember a while back myself you and Eastlondoner62 were talking about the cameras on that flyover. The amount of people that have received PCNs you'd think they would learn. But even yesterday on the Barking end of the A13. Police pulled up a car which caused for the ELTs to be diverted through the NCR

Henlys Corner and Neasden are shitholes for driving standards

The A13 has to be hands down the worst road in London completely for how dangerous the road is, alongside traffic issues. I honestly can't think of a single road worse and a single road that causes more problems to areas miles away. Even the North Circular doesn't come close. It's quite funny that whenever I drive on other roads now the ease I feel at is immense as people aren't always cutting each other off at every possible opportunity and I can imagine it's similar to other frequent A13 users.
One place that's terrible is the Beckton Roundabout, any A13/A406 crossover was always going to be a disaster but it's like that roundabout has no rules at all and the speed limit on it is 50. If you're in the middle lane, aren't taking the exit but need to get into the left lane you need to indicate as if you're coming off but you just change the lane. I sometimes wonder who designed the rules there.

But still choc a bloc though (Henly's Corner) It's still very awful. People randomly pull out particularly on the A1/406 section, and so many beggars.
Neasden still manages to exceed the horrendous Henlys Corner. That Neasden Junction is awful and is a result of poor planning

The 112 interestingly reminds me of the 173 in the sense when the NCR has no issues that bus is your best friend but when there's issues it becomes your nightmare. Going back to Henlys Corner where there's two lanes that go towards Brent Cross and the other two goes towards Mill Hill on the A1 you see so many drivers literally cut you up at the last minute before the split happens. I purposely to try to give enough space as much as I can and drive accordingly but my goodness. Those roads can really put people off driving.

WH241 I have to give you credit for this thread. Something I felt that has not been discussed as much is the hard driving test centres to do your test. I don't know for the rest of the folk on here whether you live in London or out of London but I remembered 10 plus years ago of doing my lessons. My instructor actually told me Wanstead is one of the toughest places to pass your test. Especially that roundabout by Redbridge Station. Some have told me Enfield is another tricky place to pass. I'm not sure about Wood Green and Chingford though.

The 112, 232, 173, 34 and to an extent the 95 are some routes I'd honestly hate to drive or control. I do always wonder what the reactions at Go Ahead and Stagecoach iBus are when the A13 goes down and every route slowly descends into total chaos. I'd imagine that's one benefit of the North Circular once you're west/north of Charlie Browns in the fact that while the road itself may become a standstill, the spillover into neighbouring areas isn't that bad.

I think it probably depends how bad the traffic is and where the safe place is to cut it. I know for the 34 if the traffic is bad on the NCR. They either cut it to Edmonton Cambridge Roundabout, Silver Street, Palmers Green or Crooked Billet

Barnet 5. Wood Green ( www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/hardest-easiest-places-london-pass-16482539 ) Although I have seen in multiple spots now that the Erith test centre topped the hardest in London this year.

I passed in Barking that was a pretty tough test as things were not much different to now in terms of traffic and busy junctions around Ilford Lane.
