I remember that, it was actually very handy (141 did that too?). IIRC the 21 also had no weekend service north of London Bridge? Yes the 21 didn't go north of London Bridge at weekends prior to 2002. Yes the 17 and 46 cut to the north to Kings Cross.

One I remember was the 204 which a loop was added on sundays to serve Wembley Arena (for the market), which at one point, the loop got reversed

There was some real oddities in East London up until 1993/1994 The 262A was a Sunday version of the 262, but followed the current 300 route from Newham Way to Beckkn via the docks. Also on Sundays, the 5 ran beyond Canning Town all the way up to Old Street Station (which continued up until the late 90s,) the 15 ran through to East Ham and the 147 ran beyond Keir Hardie Estate all the way up to Stratford via the 241 route. Also the 8 to the old WH garage in Plaistow and the 86 to Limehouse. Also until 2004 the 25 ran via Tower Hill on weekends. When route 25 was converted to opo in 1988, BW only ran route 8 Mon-Sat and route 25 Daily. Admittedly both were much larger and longer routes then.

Do many routes now have a different type on Sundays compared to Mon-Sat. I know about route 357. I saw E200s on route 352 last Sunday instead of Streetlites.

At the risk of showing my age, my first ever August Bank Holiday bus outing per se was to sample route 49, back in 1978. My journey was from Gloucester Road to Streatham Garage. Route 49 went on to intersect with several routes with Sunday allocation variations. I therefore saw it or even rode it on some subsequent August Bank Holidays. Yesterday I felt a burst of nostalgia, meaning that route 49 was my only bus ride for pure convenience rather than due to a change or rarity I wanted to sample. EDIT: Amazing coincidence. Just as I posted this my local radio station started playing a song from that time in 1978: Frankie Valli with Grease.
