What a silly video! Some people are delusional to think that Ulez can be reversed Why don't you go and tell them that? They're perfectly entitled to protest. I saw some protests in Bexley the other day and they were getting plenty of support from passers-by.

The Ulez is not set in stone.

I have nothing against the protest but the idea is quite meaningless, ULEZ is quite unlikely to be reversed. If this is all what Susan Hall is campaigning for, what hope do we have?

It would be very expensive to reverse ULEZ No it wouldn’t. Well it cost around £140 Million for the implementation! So would be a huge waste of money of switched off.
Date: Tuesday 28 March 2023
Officers are drafting a response. Date: Monday 22 May 2023
The total implementation cost to deliver the planned expansion of ULEZ was estimated in November 2022 to be £159.5m based on assumptions at that time. However, since this time Transport for London has undertaken further design work and now expect the costs to be in the range of £130 -140m. This includes spend for systems design, development and testing; on-street infrastructure design, procurement and delivery including camera installation and signage; marketing and media campaign; and legal and consultation costs.

I'm sure it's not all Susan Hall is campaigning for but at least she's been decisive about it unlike Kier Starmer who you mentioned in a previous post. Obviously we'll have to see what happens but it can't be very cost effective sending vans out that gather little or no data because the camera has been blocked, quite legally, and some have had to be recovered by breakdown trucks because they've been damaged. Staff have been verbally abused and not just by protestors but by local residents who don't want them in their area, some are now accompanied by security staff although they can't do much other than phone the police if anything illegal happens.

Keir Starmer refuses to say if Ulez expansion was rightLeader of the Labour Party Sir Keir Starmer has refused to say whether the decision taken by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to expand the Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) was the right one.www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67020197 Wow what a great leader... can't make his mind up about anything. I can't tell whether he is serious about becoming the next PM as he has no clue about anything You are responding to a week-old post. After this week's Labour conference no-one can be in any doubt that he is serious about becoming the next Prime Minister at the head of a strong Labour Government. Contrast to the Tories who seemed to be preparing for defeat and were already maneuvering for the inevitable power struggles.

You can’t deny that there is an air of indecisiveness surrounding Starmer. He seems to change his mind to suit the people he’s talking to. Ultimately, as demonstrated in Scotland just a week ago, people will vote for Labour but only because they feel want to bring down the status quo governments. That prospect is dangerous as the people who lend their vote to Labour will be far more harsh and unforgiving if they fail to bring everything they promise to fruition. In a similar way those in the former Labour red wall are being far more critical of the Tory’s.

In the same ways successful (like them or not) leaders like Blair, Johnson, Thatcher etc were able to do? Assembling a broad coalition of voter groups and winning big majority governments. Seems like he actually wants to win an election. Shocker, I know. Scotland and the Red Wall seats have a habit of big swings at elections when there is strong feelings. It's healthy as it will keep most governments on their toes, but the SNP & Tories have somehow largely forgotten it.

Did not see anything saying there was a time limit to reply to anything. Seems like he rubbed you up the wrong way over Starmer, as usual Labour can do no wrong in your eyes. That rose tinted approach is what costs votes which could impede a majority. The same way everyone was so cock certain with Ed Milliband and look how that ended up. I personally think Starmer is not a fan of ULEZ, but he does not want to throw Khan under the bus. There has been so much things he has said which it is obvious he is no fan of it. The press are just goading him but he is not biting their bait.

Unfortunately I find Starmer to be too uninspiring to lead this country. The only way Starmer will get into power is because people will vote Labour tactically, because they've had enough of the Tories or think he is better or not as bad as Rishi Sunak. The Tories only got their 80 seat majority was because people wanted to get Brexit done. Starmer won't bring any good change in my opinion
