TfL has a long standing habit of saying one thing and doing another. I’ll remain cautious of their antics until they actually happen. I don’t trust Kahn and see this is as nothing more than a way to grab votes in the outer boroughs. After all this is something TfL has been trying to do since the days of Livingstone with only one new express route and even then it was a result of hacking away another, albeit very long, route. If idiot Khan thinks this will win him votes in Outer London he is even more deluded than we thought possible. I envisage really high voter turnout next time, with ‘nul points’ going to Khan. My thoughts exactly, this crayonist superloop looks like something out of the fantasy section on here, I'll believe it when it happens. Meanwhile elsewhere......... www.transdevbus.co.uk/_/witchway-and-cityzap-sky-class-luxury-amazing-value

Not wild about the name: it doesn't work at all for the X68 or 607. With the 507 & 521 finally disappearing, I'd have reused Red Arrow! And although we argue on here about numbers, there should be consistent numbering to give the impression of a network, in the same way as 7** denotes a coach or 8/9** was a Mobility Bus.
The routes in the southeastern sector need far more thought: perhaps something more like a reintroduction of the lost section of the 726. You might usefully link across Bromley, or continue to Thamesmead, Dartford or Bluewater.
Above all, something like this needs to be backed with bus priority.

Most journeys are shop hops and we don’t need these features.

Neither am I and as for the branding it just looks very 1980s in the sense that it is all flash and no substance.

How was a express bus serve Ilford ? Would it leave the A406 sit in gridlock traffic double run and then head back into the A406 after sitting in more traffic! Why is it in inner Zone 4 in the north and east and in zone 5 and 6 in the west and south?

To me, more than happy to see this SuperLoop concept given a try, but it needs to have a defined, what makes it a success criteria, if we are going to commit long term funding to it. I do feel that the "superloop" concept is very much diluted though by including 607,X68 and X239. You have this core loop, then chuck in a few random other routes into the branding just because they are express. My only concern is what will happen to frequencies of the parallel routes. If they get halved, then lots of people will be disadvantaged for the benefit of a few. But this seems to be a common policy for this mayor, so probably is supported by his elitest backers. When I first saw that superloop diagram, I thought they were just trying to draw a happy face with all those other non-loop routes. 🙂

It's not even a loop.

The sceptic in me feels like this plan is covering up another plan to hack up or reduce routes that run parallel to the new routes.

Regardless of this superloop nonsense I've always thought there's a good case for bringing back the lost section of the 726 between Bromley and Dartford and onto Bluewater and possibly Ebbsfleet International but I won't hold my breath.

Not totally enamoured by the name either here. Would have liked something involving revolution used given its double meaning, maybe just the revolution, maybe with a secondary descriptive. SuperLoop sounds like they took the visual into a primary school and asked them for ideas.

How many more routes does North Finchley need? Why do they think that's where North London ends? Why not Harrow to Enfield via Barnet? And crossrail 2 only going as far as New Southgate. It's so weird. And nothing about cross boundary routes and reducing walking distances, which would be what would actually ameliorate the effects of ULEZ Yeah I agree, Barnet seems like a more suitable destination from the west, perhaps utilizing the 107/292 corridor via Stirling Corner. Then the 307 to Southbury, down the A10, north Circular then A112 to Walthamstow. Or continue via the 313 to Chingford, the 179 to Woodford Green, then the 275 to Barkingside, 128 to Gants Hill, 66 to Romford then towards Rainham
