Hi what are the best bus routes with the best views like from Hills The ones that I can think of are 53 107 245 332 432 417 N1 what others routes that got some the best views to see W3 between Wood Green and Finsbury Park, notably passing Alexandra Palace and along Ferme Park Road (both directions). W7 and 144 descending Muswell Hill. 210 across the top of Hampstead Heath and descending Highgate Hill. 83 and 183 have a brief but good view from the hill on Kingsbury Road between Church Lane and The Hyde. 258 across Harrow-on-the-Hill and descending towards Bushey and Watford - also Harrow Weald Common which doesn't have views but is scenic in its own right. Also 142 descending Stanmore Hill. The 247 is a surprising one because the scenic bit is actually as flat as a pancake - but there is an extensive view towards Docklands and the City of London across the fields between Marks Gate and Hainault Forest. Spot on about the W3 especially around the spring/summer time the views from Alexandra Park is so beautiful.

The 210 is very scenic from Archway to Golders Green with sights of Hampstead Heath & Highgate Village.
If the 268 was DD that would be quite scenic with lovely views of the foresty area near Jack Straws Castle, Whitestone Pond, Hampstead & also the lovely houses of Belsize Park.
The 84 is very scenic between Darkes Lane & High Barnet with scenic views up the A1000, especially the views of Hadley Green & Hadley Highstone

243 has a nice view of (William) Hill bookies as you come into Tottenham from High Cross / Seven Sisters A good view Alexandra Palace up on the hill can be seen from Lordship Lane at the start of Bruce Castle Park approaching Wood Green on the 123 / 243. You can also see some of the 15 year old 318 buses going (down)hill due to lack of maintenance and breakdowns from time to time

The 285 has very great views between Hatton Cross and Harlington Corner. You can see the airport in full steam with airplanes landing or taking off depending on the wind direction. This view is enhanced by the fact that the bus normally maintains a constant speed all throughout that duration especially when RATP used to operate the route with VHs.

They're some superb views looking south along Beluah Hill on the 196, 249 etc but you have to know when and where to look as it's a split second to see it between all the trees and dwellings.

The 81 is quite nice going down Bath Road, especially around the Heathrow area. It’s a lot of fun to watch the hustle and bustle outside the hotels, and watch the planes taking off! (There are a lot of Scanias to look out for too, both rigid and articulated, on airport shuttle duties!)There’s also a nice bridge that gives you views of the M25 below (and VWs can exceed their limit when travelling downhill!) The section through Colnbrook is also quite nice, as it’s such a narrow and interesting town! Anyone coming to the 81 running day will also be able to experience all of this! (I think I’ve ended up sounding like a travel agent 😂) I commute on the 81, and its quite a nice journey. I back this. Took it a couple weeks ago and it was a good ride.

Yes, I'll be doing that, still need to ride a VW on the route, my last outing was under RATP on a ADE

It also runs along the perimeter road unlike the 111/285 which are slightly afar

290 between Sunbury Cross and Hanworth on the A316 flyover by the waterworks. When LT ran the Airbus routes, the view from the top deck of a Metrobus on the elevated section of the M4 was good. Whilst it isn’t a TfL route, you can still get to do the M4 on the Greenline 702. I did this the other month, admittedly, it’d of been nowhere near as much fun as being on a Metro being cained along the M4, bombing along, sitting up front on top of Reading Buses’ 763 at 60mph+ Certainly was rather ‘thrill seeking’

That’s what my phone was clocking it at. Probably wasn’t anywhere near that but when your in the middle lane overtaking in a bus, you must be doing a fair old bit! You certainly get some good views coming over the elevated section in Brentford.

363 towards Elephant & Castle has great views into Central London from Sydenham Hill. As an aside, I remember when the 63 served Sydenham Hill with Titans and they'd take forever to get up the hill!

I remember riding the 2B as a kid as well as later on the 2 & 432 on L's up Central Hill and the roar of the Gardener engine is epic, such a great sound from back in the day. Sadly, my local T routes were mainly flat affairs though did have a great ride on a T on the 196 up Knights Hill during it's period where London General & London Central would be switching operation due to staff shortages
