Do you ever think that other parts of London will also get massive cuts like Central London has? After the 45's planned fate I do often wonder if TfL will 'eventually' play around with other duplicated sections of route, the 57 and¹ 131 between Tooting Broadway and Raynes Park coming to mind. ¹ - both accompanied in part by the 219

It would give a direct link to Wimbledon Station and improved capacity for match days. Of the three the 219 is the least used on the Tooting to Wimbledon section. The 57 and 131 are both quite busy.

I like this idea to support the 493 and serve some new roads which only have the 200, and the 219 is definetly the least helpful through Colliers Wood. If TFL really want to reduce the 57/131/219 corridor then the 219 could divert via Haydons Road Station and take the 200 route into Wimbledon. I don't think the corridor really deserves a decrease but neither did most of the routes that got cut anyway.

We've seen many bus routes across Croydon being hacked back, an example of bus cuts outside Central London though the routes cut back only lost about two stops or so. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something similar for instance between Turnpike Lane and Wood Green. Locally to me I'm concerned TFL may look to revive the proposal to hack the 427 back to Southall especially now the Elizabeth Line is open.

I've always thought TfL would do a Croydon style cut around Wood Green. Wood Green - Turnpike Lane isn't even a long or confusing distance and it is walkable, Croydon meanwhile forces 264/250/405/412/433 passengers to navigate around West Croydon or Park Street, both of which can be confusing/overwhelming for some with multiple stops all going to different places.

TfL are pretty much probably will go back to 427 being cut back to Southall because that’s what they have planned to do with the 427. They didn’t cut back the in 2019 because the development of the new development in Southall hadn’t been completed but I’m pretty sure that once if the new development is complete and now that the Elizabeth line has been completed TfL would probably go back to rerouting the 427 to Southall not that I do don’t that TFL went away from it they just had to put a pause on it.

I don’t know I think Harrow and Uxbridge might have a bus change similar to the Central London plans.

Are there any physical restrictions preventing DDs on the 214 to Highgate, or is it just resident issues? Or even low trees that could easily be removed, like when the 274 was converted to DDs?
If they can be used, considering TFL's proposals, perhaps the 205 could be left alone, at least as far as Euston. Then restructure the 88/214 as planned, but with the revised 214 instead numbered 24 and using DDs.
One DD service continuing to Highgate Village would probably be sufficient at Parliament Hill Fields, this makes some cuts by removing the current 88/214 parallel.

From what I've been told (have no idea how true it is), there are restrictions both in the form of residents not wanting double decks along the section but also, trees being problematic - it was specifically mentioned some of the apparent problematic trees are situated in residents gardens.

I walked from Highate to PHF once after missing the 214 and along with problematic trees the roads are pretty tight too.

I have been up there many times and there are numerous points where trees overhang and meet in the middle of what is a fairly narrow road, and all the trees are on private property (with an active local village residents' association etc) so I imagine getting DDs up there would be a non-starter.

I just cant see how the rest of the new 214 could cope with SDs. Camden Town to Oxford Circus struggled with the C2 all those years ago with SDs not to mention Victoria to Pimlico has some busy journeys on the 24 which again I doubt can't suffice with SDs. Even without the 12 and 94 down Regent Street I can see it massive overloaded if it arrives first.

The absurdity is that the 214 can already get totally overloaded just around Kentish Town and Camden Town (and other parts of the existing but soon not to be) route, let alone going through the heart of the West End!
