I knew it would be a poor statement all talk of the good he has done and nothing really about the last few days! Can’t believe he plans to stay around until October! Leopards don’t change their spots - he was never going to address what happened about the last few days But at least he revealed the fatal flaw in the first batch of LT's as he departed, as he said during his speech, "them's the brakes"... I was half asleep so could have misheard

Serial liar with previous record of being sacked on multiple occasions for lies, finally loses the confidence of his MPs because he told one lie too many. Them’s the breaks indeed. Typically bullish statement from Johnson without an ounce of contrition, but I wouldn’t have expected anything less. It did slightly irk me when he claimed to have got Brexit done. What about Northern Ireland and the Union? He’s a first class prat, but the mess in NI is also on the DUP for getting into bed with the Tories to form a government in the first place. After the DUP and Lib Dems got their fingers burned after forming coalition governments with the Tories, parties should be much more cautious about propping up a weak Tory majority in future. And voters need to beware of leaders who are all bluster, soundbites and “alternative truths”. Even if there are short term gains, it all eventually catches up with you in the end. 'And voters need to beware of leaders who are all bluster, soundbites and “alternative truths”' You would never vote for any politician if you heeded this advise.

When I think about the mess Bojo has done. It makes me angry because I know for a fact if anyone of us on here did half the stuff he has done we would have been given our marching orders and it would have been signed, sealed and SHUT!!!
He has no integrity whatsoever

He has no integrity whatsoever He's re appeared like EN19 on the 318, but for how long until the next breakdown? Lots aren't even happy with him staying until October, some are saying that Carrie wants to use Chequers, the Government digs near Great Missenden, for a belated Wedding Party in the summer before they go. They certainly put the "sham" in Amersham, that pair If he so much as sneezes, they will bundle him out the door or reinstate "Operation Domino" (nothing to do with Pizza) where they start resigning one by one again. His Cabinet is as strong as one of those from the Argos catalogue

I think if Raab resigns or Dorres (very unlikely) then I think it's curtains for him I almost feel sorry for those 2 and Priti Patel at least. Maybe also Grant Shapps. They are very unlikely to be kept on as ministers under Boris's successor.

It appears that Johnson is doubling down and refusing to go. It’s all going to end very messily. He’s not an idiot - he knows he’s lost the confidence of his party and remaining in position is a ridiculous stance to take. He needs to leave now or risk being dragged kicking and screaming from office He won a 2 year extension like the buses on the 318 but their immediate future looks better than his at present. BBC say that even Priti Patel has told him to go, and Boris is refusing. 40 ministers quitting in one day smashes previous 1932 record of 11, so Boris has achieved something notable today It even started looking as though there would be insufficient Tory MPs available to fill the government vacancies. Although he didn't name them, Nicky Campbell reported just before Boris resigned that a backbench MP was dreading the phone ringing, in case it was Boris offering him a job.

I think he needs to step down for his own good, he's certainly aged since he's been in office and covid must have taken its toll. I don't know who is going to do any better though and the opposition leaders job is still hanging by a thread depending on what action Durham police take. The difference is that Keir said he would resign if the cops fined him, whereas in contrast Boris has refused despite a fine, a lengthy inquiry and report over the matter. I think Durham Police would have done something about this now if it was so serious. Bojo was looking as tired as the buses on the 268, long before covid. Rich food and sedentary lifestyle won't help. He may have a run from time to time, but I doubt it's helped much. I am still baffled how a man of his build and in that unfortunate age group where so many men have succumbed to Covid, he fought it off with no assistance from a ventilator but yet allegedly almost "took one for the team"? Some things do not add up. I think Boris has gotten by with a dash of make believe everywhere he goes. It's becoming a farce, people resigning faster than he can replace them, we are up to 39 now... Queen may order dissolution of Parliament as her government has shown to be unstable. That's the real person in charge of things (even as a constitutional figurehead)... he lied to her too and had to apologise last year. We are in unchartered waters with this one Although I do like you, I just need to ask you not to take Metroline buses in vain like this.

Boris is to make a statement at 12:30 I knew it would be a poor statement all talk of the good he has done and nothing really about the last few days! Can’t believe he plans to stay around until October! A subsequent report on Newsnight is that the MPs votes should take place by July 21st and the winner announced on September 5th. Much more sensible than having him cling on for another month just for the party conference.

The best thing Boris did in his 3 years as PM was resigning The third Prime Minister brought down by Boris Johnson Although we have had weaker or harsher Prime Ministers - such as James Callaghan and Margaret Thatcher respectively - he has surely been our least statesmanlike Prime Minister of all-time. His disregard for rules and laws, even his own Covid lockdown rules, and his over-supportiveness towards the likes of Owen Paterson and Chris Pincher have effectively been his downfall.

Well, he has always been a bit of a DEL boy, which has caught him out in the long run Like the current 268 fleet, he was great in 2012 but it's an uphill struggle now

He’s not wrong though… I’ve seen a number of broken down E200s as of late from Cricklewood, although it’s probably just a coming of age thing.
