I suspect it’s being aimed at the market outside of London but they may offer one if TfL operators seek it.

I suspect it’s being aimed at the market outside of London but they may offer one if TfL operators seek it. As I read it, the 100 only comes in the 8.5m length currently so won’t be a dual door bus anyway. Presumably, the other lengths will be available further down the road. The all ADL Enviro 400 is pretty restrictive in length with just a 11.1m version available so not surprising it’s seemingly marketed towards non London operators

The BYD/ADL products will also continue to be available.

The vehicle seems to be speced more as a rear engined van with a bus body, so am looking at the E100 more as a minibus than a midibus. Can only see the longer sd requirements being meet by the proposed all ADL E200. Think the E100 has primarily been released to fill the 45 passenger capacity sd that has been missing in the BYD/ADL range.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said where I said, "presumably the other lengths will be available further down the road", and I've never disputed that the BYD products will continue to be available - see my post a few days ago underlining that exact fact

More details about the forthcoming Enviro 100EV in this Routeone article: www.route-one.net/news/alexander-dennis-enviro100ev-small-bus-redefined/Interesting to read that they planned to launch it as a diesel, then they thought a diesel-hybrid might be more appropriate before settling on fully electric because of shifting market conditions and demands. They also toyed around with the idea of making it wheel forward in the early stages of development. There is also a TfL compliant version in the works. I wonder what bus routes this could be suitable for? Perhaps we could see a few operated by Dial-a-Ride as well?

Be interesting to see what capacity and GWT this thing gets. Think the Enviro 200EV will be one that is more attractive to London operators when it is released.

Well definately not a short Metrorider. It is the equivalent of the original Dennis Dart back in 1990.
