I've done this thread towards the end of the last couple of years. Your predictions for the year 2023, be that for the London bus network or wider affairs.
And go!

My predictions for 2023:
Buses:
A consultation in the Meridian Water area involving routes 34, 192, 341, 444, 476, W6 and W8. All routes listed are soon up for tender as part of the speculation with those routes in the past suggested serving the area as well a review is currently taking place with a paper expecting to be published next year.
Route 347 withdrawn and partially replaced by an extended 497 to Upminister.
Route 603 converted to a daily route and extended to Wood Green via the Haringey Heartlands development. New frequency will run a peak frequency every 15 minutes.
A new express route serving Old Kent Road proposed in consultation and may involve withdrawing a route at the same time such as the 453.
Route W12 restored to run a peak frequency of 20 minutes as part of improving hospital access from the Woodford and Wanstead areas.
Route W9 reducing to a peak frequency of every 20 minutes with possibly involving route restructuring with the 456 in the long-term.
Rail:
The Lea Valley Overground lines will increase to 6tph in the off-peak between Liverpool Street and Edmonton Green with 3tph continuing on each of the Enfield Town and the Cheshunt branches. Possible increase in the peak frequency for the Cheshunt branch. This may come from the May 2023 timetable changes.
Elizabeth line runs a full timetable as planned from May 2023 with the West London bus changes commencing at the same time i.e 427 cut to Southall and E1 extension to Osterly.

A decker does either 324 or 268
VMH strays to either 316 or 487 become common
235 will STILL be diesel come June
A long-standing flagship route will be lost to a company nobody expects to even bid amidst some more shock-horror moves
A new company will enter London (hopefully in the West)
Both 23 and C3 are lost by RATPEE
All RATP WLSs are withdrawn from service in this year
316 gets fully decked all the way to White City Obviously dreaming too much now
Electrics start arriving on time for once 264 and 119 weren't too late imo since their contracts started in August and they arrived around Sep or Oct iirc
Strike-through denotes ridiculous and satirical ideas

The £2 fare cap outside London proves to be a popular success and is repeated in the Autumn.

OK, the elephant in the room ....
If there isn't an early General Election this year, the battle lines will certainly be drawn up. Labour will move towards closer relations with the EU, but will rule out rejoining as full members. Whenever the election takes place, Labour will win comfortably but will be aided by a considerable amount of tactical voting.

The 157 is retained by arriva.
The 368 might get a plot twist allocation.
The 5, 15 and 115 tender result will be a shocker and return back to Stagecoach.
The 101 possibly could be looked at for tweaking purposes (axe wielding above it's head)

I've done this thread towards the end of the last couple of years. Your predictions for the year 2023, be that for the London bus network or wider affairs. And go! Hmmmm, you asked for it More bus garage closures for housing, Power cut outages, due to high energy usage Another type of virus mutated from covid-19 Other countries sucked in by the war in Ukraine China invades a country like Russia World War 3 The UK economy bounces back, which foolishly leads people to put themselves further into debt Corbyn officially runs for mayor of London as an independent More offsprings from Extinction rebellion to cause more mayhem Expanded ULEZ wide is still a flop and ends up costing London more money in the process of setting it up Green belt rule abolished, to build houses on Another bridge crossing to be built replacing the Woolwich ferry We end up with another riot in London As for buses... Abellio London officially sold off Arriva Uk sold off to National Express The EWT system of high frequency routes causing buses to hold in service for regulation is scrapped 78 awarded to Go-Ahead [PM] 325 awarded to [WH] 476 awarded to [EC] EL1-3 awarded to [DX] 167 awarded to Sullivan bus in a shock horror move 253/254 merged into one route and converted to triaxle buses The rest of the LT fleet converted to electric 15/115 merged and converted to triaxle buses
