I think that there will be a massive change regarding the operators in Northwest London.

A new express route serving Old Kent Road proposed in consultation and may involve withdrawing a route at the same time such as the 453.. I don’t see why the 453 is occasionally brought up as an expendable route to TfL or to enthusiasts. It is often carrying heavy loads as is, an express route missing stops will do nothing but inconvenience the masses of people who use the route regularly.

I predict that the buses will still have drivers driving them, passengers riding them and be the same shade of red

I predict that the buses will still have drivers driving them, passengers riding them and be the same shade of red Evening Standard, 15th July 2023: "Transport for London to trial Reading Buses-style route branding in the Romford area in the Autumn, with differently-coloured buses for each route" (I can feel my next year's April Fool coming on)

The 172 would look to be a more obvious candidate to review, perhaps alongside the 171, especially now the 12 withdrawal is not going ahead.

Route C3 returns to QB after 3 years away with brand new electrics. Initially starts off with E40H MMCs currently on routes 344 and 415 while the electrics are delivered later on after the new contract date (30th September 2023).
Route 28 gets a full allocation of electrics using the spare Metrodeckers off route C3. Route 28's 13 reg VHs become allocated to route 452 and replaces the VDWs or WHs on the route.

Seriously you’re suggesting the 171?!?… The 171 Iinks Catford to New Cross via Brockley. Now that the 12 runs at a lower frequency the 171 is busier. The 172 is needed as this assists the 53 & 453…

I agree - we must remember that one of the reasons the 415 was extended to Old Kent Road, Tesco is because of problems with capacity, particularly on the 172. Every so often, I visit B&M on Old Kent Road via the 415 and then a short walk and it’s very telling how busy the routes still are along there even outside the peaks The one change I’d make is extend the 415 further along Old Kent Road to serve more of it from the Kennington, Oval & Brixton areas as the Tesco, as useful as it is, isn’t the only draw along there.

More Diesel buses withdrawn, replaced by HEV or EV. The TFL Bus Network will get more boring (Sorry for the negativity). The ULEZ will be expanded across London! Information about the proposed Zero Emission zone for Central London due for 2025 will be revealed.

I don't think an extension to Peckham makes much sense in all honesty - Old Kent Road, Elephant, Oval, Brixton & Tulse Hill already have links there so doesn't bring anything new or necessary to the table. New Cross or Canada Water via the Surrey Canal development would be the best shouts. Stand space at New Cross would be awkward though there is a small bit of waste land just on the left of the road that leads to Sainsbury's at New Cross that could be turned into a dedicated stand even if it means the 415 doesn't serve the Sainsbury's itself. Failing that, maybe explore a potential new stand on Parkfield Road on the one way system at New Cross
