I hate this big brother society we live in. Let’s forget about this specific incident for a second. Nobody is perfect and we live in a world where everybody is able to scrutinise everything thanks to social media and smart phones. Nobody should fear for their job because of a video that somebody has posted online.

This type of thing with drivers is nothing new. I can still remember a incident from nearly 30 years ago when a driver on a 257 stopped his bus close to Leyton bus garage to get a drink in a shop. I only remember the incident so we’ll because I had skipped school that day and was on the bus out of my area.

It's the same as the old addage about CCTV, if you're doing nothing wrong you've got nothing to worry about. I doubt the bus driver will lose their job for going in the chicken shop but I think management might want a word with him about it.

I think you’re conflating two wildly different scenarios to prove your point. One was excessive police force that lead to the death of a man and the other is stopping to visit a chicken shop. It’s apples and oranges really.

Let me give you a scenario that also throws your last point into doubt. I once worked in security at a UK airport. A colleague missed a liquid - probably 150ml of liquid in a 500ml bottle. There was no additional threat as the technology would have detected if said liquid was potentially explosive, however it was of course a breach of conformance. Said passenger thought it would be smart to post on Twitter that they had managed to get the liquid through. The meds team informed security, who had no choice but to call it through as a breach of security as that was the process. That meant that the police had to attend, on blues, and everyone was now hunting for this passenger. End result: - passenger missed flight - multiple managers out hunting for passenger for 20 mins - multiple police officers attended - security person investigated - gross misconduct!

Like others have said they are two very different scenarios As for the driver who stopped at the chicken shop, I don't see it as being too much of an issue, after all drivers need food but perhaps it would be sensible to take food of your own

Let’s all bow down to you because you’re clearly perfect in every way.

I really hope this isn't the start of another pointless argument because it was only a few days since the last one

It’s apples and oranges really. They were both filmed by members of the public, whether we like it or not it's part and parcel of day to day life nowadays. Personally, the biggest issue for me is why people are bothered that a driver has stopped off for food - providing he isn't there for a long time, it wouldn't be an issue for me as a passenger on the bus. I can remember this happening with some Arriva drivers on the 2 who'd stop off at a particular cafe for a tea/coffee or to get change (this was pre cashless payment on buses) and I wasn't that bothered by it admittedly.
